Scion doesn't permit discounting and I've never heard of anyone getting a dime off the base price of the car- even dealership employees.

That is pretty much why they are so cheap if you think about it. Instead of an inflated price that you can easily talk down, they just give you the bottom price to start with. I think the above post is correct, you arent going to find it any cheaper.

even dealership employees.
Pretty much. Before i ordered my tC I was talking to a guy who had got one for his daughter. He works for the Carmax near me which has a toyota dealership. The only thing they could do for even him was knock a few bucks off the extended warrenty.

Now... sure, you can get a manual tC for under $16,500. Used, damaged, salvaged, repoed, etc, etc. Just not new.

I had traded in my 2004 Prius and we all knew he could get original MSRP on it even at a year old and with 25k on it. He couldn't change the price, but he waived all tax title license, and gave me a ton of credit to get mods for the car. I may have ended up a little better off than some, but not many trade-ins they'll profit THAT high on...
