Phillip, the president of the SoCal tC Club has been running our exhaust kit on his car for a few months now, and we are satisfied with the long term testing results. We wanted to make sure we had completed our testing before releasing the kit to the public. The last thing we wanted to do was rush the kit out to market.
The High Flow S-Pipes are nearing completion at this time as well. The prototype is on Phillips car at the moment and we are waiting on some final testing before heading into production. Again, we need to validate the design and perform our standard testing before releasing the part.

PoizentC 05-25-2005, 05:28 PM Hey I was seeing on your site that it's 599 for the system without s-pipe, 699 with s-pipe, and 150 just s-pipe by itself...if I was to buy the full exhaust system now and I wanted to buy the s-pipe when it is released would I have to pay 150 for it? or could I still get it for 100? I would like to get the full exhaust system now but will wait if I can save 50 bucks once the spipe is released.
Also do you have any more shots of the exhaust on and off the car other than the ones pictured on your site?
Draxas_VP 05-25-2005, 06:04 PM For those of you who wish to buy the S-Pipe later, we will offer the same $50 off discount. :)
I know Phillip sent me pics of the exhaust, I just need to dig them out. The one on the item page listed above is the most current tip. We started off with a straight cut tip but then changed it at the request of Scion tC owners. The angle cut fits the curve of the bumper much better.
PoizentC 05-25-2005, 06:44 PM also, is there a dyno for the setup installed? only saw the stock dyno graph
Draxas_VP 05-25-2005, 06:49 PM I will be posting the dyno of just the exhaust installed and also a new dyno with the AlpahWerks headers added.
Clayton1 05-25-2005, 11:19 PM Is there anyway you could make a video of the car driving by the camera at WOT. In that video the exhaust sounds kinda raspy and fart-canish at the top end. I would just like hear it somemore before gettin it. Thanx
jlaznlover 05-26-2005, 03:05 AM how much is it for just the midpipe? how much for the midpipe with the s pipe? thanks
unlimited77 05-26-2005, 06:27 AM this would be a nice mod.
Draxas_VP 05-26-2005, 10:12 PM We do not sell the Midpipe by itself, as it is not designed to work with any other exhaust, stock or aftermarket.
Videos,
I will see if Phillip can take a new video of the exhaust on this car. He reads these boards so he may see this and just do it on his own.

Souljah347 06-02-2005, 02:46 AM that sounds mean as hell. do you have any dyno numbers? and was that sound clip taken with an intake and your upgraded s-pipe? i may have to pick on of these up.
texasisbigger 06-02-2005, 04:46 AM WOT = wide open throttle
matty-tC 06-02-2005, 12:25 PM dyno#'s please.
sounds great.
what about CEL's?
Draxas_VP 06-02-2005, 02:55 PM The above vid was with a K&N Intake installed as well. No S-Pipe installed on the car at that time. Phillip owes me a new video and dyno with the S-Pipe installed.
No CELs from installing the exhaust... Not sure why there would be...

That price does not include the S-pipe, correct? Would the price then be $600 with S-pipe?
Im really not impressed with the sound. Sounds like am angry bee nest when you opened it a little
RacingSolution 06-02-2005, 04:02 PM Those of you with a turbo coming... this is a great setup for an excellent performance increase... F/I makes the exhausts quieter if you are worried about it being too loud. I have heard this exhaust in person and it has a very nice tone to it
Draxas_VP 06-02-2005, 09:46 PM This exhaust doesnt sound anything like an angry bee nest. ;) All I can say at this time is, trust me. I've been in the sport compact scene for quite some time now, and I've heard my fair share of "fart can" and "Angry bee" exhausts.... and this isnt one of them.
Dynos... we are going to get Phillip back to the dyno so we can cmpare our numbers to the numbers being posted by other companies around the net and here on ScionLife...
tcsciontist 06-02-2005, 10:10 PM Cat-Back or Axle-Back???

I actually feel a little insulted you would tell me that what I feel it sounds like, isnt correct. I have a very good sound system on my computer and to me it sounds like a bee's nest. Maybe you can post some kinda drive by clip, or REALLY open it up so we can hear how it sounds full throttle.
Listerman 06-03-2005, 02:15 PM Am I missing something? Where is everyone finding a video/sound clip?
yellot00tr 06-03-2005, 04:30 PM going to order my exhaust right now. just wondering-anyone who's bought it and installed it, how was the install? do i need to cut anything or is it just bolt on?
and where are those dyno numbers
JCLiP 06-03-2005, 05:03 PM I am currently looking to purchase an exhaust for my tC. How will your set up be on a automatic transmission? Can the system be installed without the s-pipe?
yellot00tr 06-03-2005, 10:41 PM just ordered my draxas exhaust. can't wait to get it and put it on. i heard that it's pushing only 4hp? how are the gains that little? supposedly the creative compacts full catback is giving 12hp. hopefully once the s-pipe is put on also, the gains will go up to 6-7hp.
RacingSolution 06-03-2005, 10:53 PM I believe the 4whp is on a stock tC.... add an intake/header and s-pipe and you will make a lot more.
Draxas_VP 06-04-2005, 12:45 AM This exhaust can be installed on a tC with an automatic transmission. This can also be installed without the S-Pipe being upgraded.
The gains from the Creative Compacts cannot be compared to the gains we saw. Creative compacts installed more than just the exhaust on the car between baseline and that dyno pull. Also, their Scion tC's stock dyno numbers were WAYYYYY below what is commonly seen everywhere else around the country. If we said that our stock dyno pull was at their numbers, then our exhaust kit would gain 12hp as well. ;)
JCLiP 06-04-2005, 12:56 AM How many have obtainned your exhaust do far? Is it still going for 500.00
yellot00tr 06-04-2005, 12:57 AM either way, i can't wait to get this thing. patience is definetely not a virtue i claim to have. need money, need parts, need more parts. when is the header from draxas supposed to be avail? is there any idea on price yet? i can't figure out if i should get the alphawerks or one of the others. i have an intake already, now that i bought the exhaust, the next thing i gotta get is the header. i've been trying to figure out which one to get for like the last week. i guess it's not really that much of a decision since almost everyone likes the alphawerks better. i wish there was another stainless steel one other than the 2 that are out.
NY_BSP_Scion 06-04-2005, 04:58 AM Am I missing something? Where is everyone finding a video/sound clip?
Im looking so hard and man im blind as a bat too i do not see the video or sound they are refering too.
HyperZ 06-04-2005, 10:02 PM You're not alone. I can't find it either. And no one is speaking out, like it's some sort of secret.
Souljah347 06-04-2005, 11:42 PM it seems the sound clip has been taken down. it was right on http://store.draxas.com/detail.asp?Cat=&Sub=&Item=530
Draxas_VP 06-06-2005, 03:41 PM I removed the video clip because it was poor quality, taken with my digital camera, a short 15 second clip. Im waiting for Phillip to get me a new video that may actually be a fair representation of how our exhaust sounds. Either way, unless you have very high quality sound recording and editing equipment, a digital movie is not going to accurately reproduce sound.
We need 9 more to make the Group Buy Price effective. Once I receive all 10 orders, the kits will be shipped out that day. No credit cards will be billed until we hit the minimum of 10 orders.
HeartBreaker 06-06-2005, 04:40 PM Just to let you all know I will be taking a new video some time this week to give you a better idea of how the exhaust sounds. Also I will be doing an updated dyno sometime this week to find out what the new numbers are. As for the sound... it definitely doesn't sound like the angry bee nest that one of you commented. Low res video and sound definitely cant tell you how it really is. All I can say is that it is a very nice sound. 8) Updates coming soon.
yellot00tr 06-06-2005, 06:22 PM so let's say that i don't care about the group buy and i want the exhaust for the original $600 and free shipping. can i get it at that price immediately?
apexjr 06-06-2005, 06:38 PM What exhaust can did you use?
Draxas_VP 06-06-2005, 06:48 PM Apexjr,
What are you referring to? Exhaust can? The muffler used in our application is built in house, straight through design, 18" long by roughly 9" in diameter, T-304 stainless steel casing and welds.
yellot00tr 06-07-2005, 07:04 PM if we don't want to wait for the group buy and would rather just purchase the exhaust now, can we do so for the original $600 with free shipping?
Draxas_VP 06-08-2005, 03:15 PM Interesting,
We have not had anyone decide to take advantage of the special group buy offer. If you are interested in the kit, but have some reservations that are holding you back from placing the order, please post them here or call us. I will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have regarding our Scion tC exhaust kit.
matty-tC 06-08-2005, 03:51 PM i can almost guarantee it's the sound clip.
a sound clip with the exhaust + aftermarket header would be nice too :)
2K5BluTc 06-08-2005, 04:38 PM I'm going to have to give Draxas some serious props here. My buddy Scott has a 2.3 Mazda 3 5-Door with their cat-back exhaust, and it sounds freakin awsome! I've listened to it from the outside, drove the car many times, and I still get a HUGE GRIN from ear to ear every time I hear it! As for the quality, TOP NOTCH just doesn't do it justice! Smooth bends, 2.5" pipe, fully polished and it installed easily! The power is there too! The car pulls hard all the way through rev's. We dynoed his car and I was quite impressed as it only had an intake and exhaust running 15+ horsepower and 15+ ft lbs over stock! I'm sure their TC exhaust will be just as great, and it will compliment naturally aspirated as well as turbo'd TC's! I am a very picky person when it comes to quality and power, and they meet that mark and then some! Yeah for Draxas!
matty-tC 06-08-2005, 04:47 PM sounds good... but i'd still like a sound clip
Draxas_VP 06-09-2005, 02:08 PM I spoke with Phillip and he will be getting me that new vid/sound clip very soon. :)
2K5BluTc,
Thanks for the compliments on our Mazda3 kit. Our Scion kit is made just as well as our Mazda3 kits, which have been received very well by the Mazda3 community. Im sure it will just take some time for the name Draxas to get around in the Scion community. Draxas isnt leaving the Scion market any time soon, so Im not THAT concerned about this just yet.
matty-tC 06-09-2005, 05:11 PM cool. if you make an exhaust that sounds good with a header, i will purchase it :)
Draxas_VP 06-09-2005, 06:49 PM I have heard that complaint from a number of Scion tC owners. We have installed an extra resonator onto Phillip's tC (he has Header, S-Pipe, and Draxas Exhaust)... The noise was of course unbearable... But now with the extra resonator installed, Phillip says it sounds great again. We'll see what his dyno numbers are tomorrow at 5pm with the full list of parts installed. We're hoping for some very nice numbers.
We are strongly considering offering two versions of our Scion tC exhaust..or maybe just one... that has an extra resonator installed to keep sound down. Or resonators are straight through design so they dont hurt performance.
Maybe I should take a poll to see how many people would like to have an exhaust that makes running a header not so bad. What do you guys think?
yellot00tr 06-13-2005, 05:33 AM how about answering my question-i ordered the exhaust from the website-which didn't say that 10 had to be bought before any would ship out. here's the quote from ur website "Special Offer!! We have reduced the price on this kit to $500 for the first 10 buyers to take advantage of this offer. Draxas needs to get these kits into the hands of Scion tC owners to help get the word out on our high quality exhaust systems. " since it has to be 10 sold for the $500 price, i was told i could get it for the original $600 price with free shipping if i didn't want to wait. i haven't been able to get anyone to answer my phone calls, e-mails, pms or anything else. i don't know if the order i placed was canceled, is on hold, or anything else. how about letting me know what the hell is going on-i mean, I ALREADY PAID YOU and i can't get anyone from draxas to even return my calls or anything else. not only that, but u guys told me that the best thing for me to do is to get on scionlife and try and have people buy the exhaust just so i could get mine. S-Pipe: The prototype is done and the welding jig has been completed. I just need to give the word to my fabricator to begin work. However, I would like to receive a few pre-orders up front to help cover the initial cost of the first batch.
Delivery: We need to get the 10 orders of the Group Buy before I can ship out any of these kits. So far, I only have 2 orders. If I were you , I would get on all of the Scion tC message boards and urge others to jump on this great deal we are offering. $500 for an exhaust kit as high in quality and performance as ours is a major steal.. just wondering, has anyone other than phillip gotten the exhaust yet? even when u were selling it for $600? also, on the s-pipe, this isn't like a turbo or supercharger where they each cost a couple of thousand dollars. it's a $150 item-i don't see how you can't get 10 or 20 made-which at your cost wouldn't nearly be $1500 or $3000. how bout making 10 of em yourself and sell those 10. that way if it's as good a product as u guys claim, it'll sell itself. same with the exhaust. if it's that good, why do u need to have 10 people buy them before u can ship em out? i thought the exhausts were in stock and ready to ship. how about answering this post-now that everyone on scionlife can see it? not only that, i'm sure other people would like to know the answer to some of these questions. i have all the e-mails and pms i've gotten from u guys, and although ur company was good about answering the questions and everything else at first, i've heard nothing for over a week. not only that, but u've been signed onto scionlife since then which means u've def seen ur pms. what the F is going on?
purpled_out_tC 07-24-2005, 03:56 PM how does this effect the warranty?
matty-tC 07-24-2005, 04:01 PM I have heard that complaint from a number of Scion tC owners. We have installed an extra resonator onto Phillip's tC (he has Header, S-Pipe, and Draxas Exhaust)... Chaos_Being 08-16-2005, 11:31 PM Sorry to bump a bit of an old thread, but were the dyno's mentioned in this thread ever completed?
Acsilva84 09-20-2005, 06:22 PM where is everybody getting the this video at? how come i cant find it?
Acsilva84 09-20-2005, 06:31 PM oh jk. im stupid
BrEaK_AwaY 09-20-2005, 06:59 PM I will be getting this exhaust very soon, and will have many pictures, sound clips, video's, etc and will be able to answer all your questions!. If you have any questions about the exhaust as of now (keep in mind i dont have it yet), I will do my best to answer them.
XD40tC 09-23-2005, 01:44 PM I might be getting this system sooner than I thought! Will have the money to buy several things soon and this might be one of them. Thing is Id sure as hell like an s-pipe too so are you guys (Draxas) offering the $75 off that system as well? Please do!
BrEaK_AwaY 09-23-2005, 07:06 PM that is the system they are offering the 75 off on. and im sorry i havent been keeping you guys updated like i want to on here, been real busy. im still trying to contact my guy at draxas to get this exhaust shipped to me asap
XD40tC 09-23-2005, 07:15 PM But on that thread they started I thought they were offering it on the $599 system. Im quite certain thats what it was but if it is like you say, the $7xx system then its all mine!
BrEaK_AwaY 09-23-2005, 11:35 PM $750, im pretty sure its that one...

sounds great now. rasp is totally gone but that tends to happen over time with any header, rasp disappears.
performance is great. he's kickin my a$$ in every race
