when you guys did your header installs is your manifold gasket split in half? mine is in two pieces and i can see gap between the two pieces when bolted to the block i wonder if thats causing the raspyness. and does anyone have a part number fot he gasket .

 

what do you mean split in half? the gasket looks like a donut. so your saying that its cracked in half?

u have a cracked header gasket. looks lik you need to replace that. having pressure leak from your headers = no no and super bad. drove it slow and tak it to a shop ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


you dont wanna risk breaking your engine

 

I wouldn't recommend re-using the gasket. Once it is pressed between the engine and header, it can't be used again. And yes, it splitting into two pieces is normal once it has been pressed.

if it's a metal gasket you should be fine to reuse it but not if its split obviously..

besides, a gasket is dirt cheap, why not replace it ;)

 

i was to lazy to pick up a new one, and i am talking bout the manifold gasket not the spipe gasket

 

if its not 100% flush there, you will get a very loud leak. you should be able to tell its leaking though. if you have the car running and have the hood up, you should be able to hear it leaking somewhere
