Denstyr 06-02-2005, 12:19 AM For those of you who care... I'm gonna have a "scion". I'm gonna be a Daddy! We just went to the doctor today, and the baby is due Dec 31st! My wife is 9 and a half weeks pregnant. :-) Needless to say, we're both ecstatic!!
Just thought I'd let the 2nd family know!
EDIT: Some dates were wrong, so we're now due Jan 22nd.
LiquidXB 06-02-2005, 12:50 AM Wow thats awsome Dennis!!! Congats to you and your wife and good luck with everything..

and a possible new year's baby!!!! will the baby be the 1st born of 2006 for NJ? guess we will have to wait & see!
Denstyr 06-02-2005, 01:10 AM I figure, if we have the baby before New Year's then he/she will be a tax deduction for this year. If not, I hope it's the first born of 2006. B/c that would make "headlines" and probably some prizes. Why not profit from this, right? lol Thanks everyone!!
iheartmytC 06-02-2005, 01:28 AM Congrats!!
Souljah347 06-02-2005, 03:30 AM congratz man, my buddy just had a baby girl last wednesday

Girls names yes, not boys yet. We (which really means she) likes Kaylee, Hailie, Madison, and some others I can't remember.
ikhonlord 06-02-2005, 08:09 PM You could name the boy after your team President...that would make him twice as cool...
1. He will be driving around in a scion
2. He will have the same name as the Pres....
What do you say?? ahaha :)
BangorXB 06-02-2005, 08:19 PM congrats man...

Just remember, if you do make the headlines ... we need NRG plastered all over the place. I hear there is a new mom on Ebay who is selling her new born for advertising ( actually the kids clothing ). Can we pay you for advertising on your kids forehead? I have a dollar to get it started.
Seriously though, i have told you from the time you told me congrats. Now i get to post it here. Congrats to you and Kerri. If there is anything i can do ( move heavy stuff, rub her feet, go on a pickel and icecream run ... etc ) let me know.

KingofQueens23 06-03-2005, 02:46 AM Congrats to You and the Wife.......
My baby is Due around the same time!
This is a little weird Dennis...Our B-day's are Damn near the same(Mine-Nov 8, Yours Nov-9) and our kids due around the same time!
Maybe we can have People place bets to see who is born first....A Friendly Scion Life Wager.
Simplyscion 06-03-2005, 07:40 PM Congrats Dennis!!!! You know we are all here for ya if you guys need anything
Denstyr 06-03-2005, 08:29 PM Congrats to you too Gregg!!! What else is weird is you're moving to where I used to live! lol What is her due date?!
More good news... I'm trying to quit smoking too. I started last night, I haven't had one since 10PM, and I'm using the "patch". I gotta stop for the baby. Let's hope I make it without KILLING anyone! I'm finding myself very irritable already!
Milhamscion 06-03-2005, 08:49 PM Congrats "Dad"

That's the best thing you can do for the whole family. Plus the money you're paying for the smokes can be allocated to the VERY expensive diapers, formula, baby foods an more. If you pack on the punds after quitting it's far better having the weight than the smokes, I packed on 30lbs years ago after I quit and I still felt a whole lot better.
Good job
CBSIMONSEZ 06-04-2005, 12:09 AM If you dont have one already, check into getting a wholesale club membership. You can save on everything from fake boob juice to diapers to cleaners.
Enjoy these next few months, your lives will never be the sain ... i mean same.

KingofQueens23 06-04-2005, 12:23 AM Congrats to you too Gregg!!! What else is weird is you're moving to where I used to live! lol What is her due date?!
It is a bit weird.......Her due date is the Dec 27. My Son's(2 Years old now) due date was Dec 31 02 but he didn't show up till Jan 8 03....But we'll see when this one decides to arrive! I wish nothing but the best to you and your Wife! Let me know when you find out boy or girl and I'll do the Same.
Also Congrats on Quitting Smoking it's the best thing for all of you....
blue_merlyn 06-04-2005, 01:02 AM Congrats Dennis!!
Scion Baby wear!!
I just found out my Best friend is preggers, must be the water around here!
You can name them Baby Toaster :P
I quit smoking 3 years this Nov think of all the money you'll have for baby stuff!! What is it now like 5 bucks a pack?
Denstyr 06-04-2005, 01:08 AM I found that quitting is alot harder than I thought I would be. However, there's this drug called Welbutrin, that helps people quit smoking without any withdrawal. So, Monday morning I'm callin' the doc to see if I can get me some. Don't give up on me yet. I'll let you guys in on the progress of both the baby and the smoking...
Seriously, thanks for all the support. I'll need it! haha
blue_merlyn 06-04-2005, 01:19 AM It is hard! I still want one here and there, My BF does not smoke I quit cold turkey I was tired of running my insurance up w/ hacking up hairballs all the time, it is worth it!
Keep chewing that gum!

I don't know anything about Wellbutrin....Are you sure it's for Quitting Smoking? Just Wondering because this is what I found.... http://www.healthsquare.com/newrx/WEL1488.HTM
Just trying to look out for you D!

D i was more successful with the patch except when i was 'done' with the patch like 4-5 days later i had an insane craving for a butt & gave in
then i thought the same thing-let's try the pill...well its not really working for me. i have cut down on the # i smoke a day but still cant get through a whole day without a butt. so now i think i'm gonna go back to the patch & when i'm 'done' again then i will take the pill to see if it will get rid of the insane craving :tap:
good luck!!! hope something will work for the both of us!!!
Denstyr 06-04-2005, 02:01 AM Sorry, it's Wellbutrin XL and it's an anti-depressant. But they realized that people who used it ALSO quit smoking, on their own. Therefore they prescribe it for quitting as well, but in less doses for those who aren't depressed... I'll talk to my doc on Monday. My Mom used it, and it worked well for her. And she smoked for 30+ years. It's pretty much the same as Zyban, except it's covered under insurance. Zyban isn't.
http://www.healthsquare.com/newrx/zyb1506.htm
Also, good luck to you Jennay! You can dooo it!! and I can too, just with a lil more help
Thanks for the look out though Gregg...

Yes, Kerri planned on using my car once the baby is born. That means I get her 99 Cougar. But I'll convince her to get her own box eventually.
Big_Jim 06-10-2005, 02:09 AM hey man, congrats to you and the family!!
i know this for a fact, if you get the right baby seat, the xb looks cool with it.

I quit in 1982 long before any over the counter aids were available. I knew the addiction was strong (Camel no filters and a pack+ per day) so I laid out a 6 month plan to gradually step down the Nicotine levels in my system Here's how I did it:
1 )First switch was to Camel with filter for a few weeks plus less cigs per day. I only lit up when my body said I HAD to. No pleasure smoking.
2) Switched to Marlboro as it had less nicotine for a month. Each week reducing the number of smokes. From this point forward I smoked when I HAD to but I skipped one of those MUST-HAVE cigs. Then Another etc. Did this weekly to reduce number of cigs.
3) Switched to Marlboro Lights 100's, bigger cig but overall less nicotine for about a month
4) Dropped down to Marlboro lights reg size for about another month
5) Having difficulty with satisfying the craving I switched to Salem lights Menthol to make things interesting again. Did this for a month
6) Swithed to Salem ULTRA-Lights 100's for two weeks
7) Switched to Salem ULTRA-Lights regular size for 2 weeks
8. Switched to Carlton lights 100's (like sucking only air) for a week
9) Switched to Carlton lights reg size for a few weeks
10) Success, just a little over 6 months but I did it on my own. I threw out the last pack and was done with it.
I STILL had 2 weeks of withdrawal symptoms. Everytime I needed a cigarrette I stuck an empty bottle of Krazy Glue between my fingers. That helped pshycologically with the habit-induced sensory needs. I was smoke free from there on but then had to deal with packing on 30lbs, but it was well worth it.
BTW.... one reason for quitting was the cigarrettes were getting too expensive at .99 per pack!! (true!)
Good luck Den!
Keith
Denstyr 06-11-2005, 07:42 PM haha, thanks for the 9 step program! lol
.99 per pack, I wish! you do know they're up to $7 in some areas right?!
Boxed_In 06-11-2005, 09:19 PM Yup, I do. And if 7 bucks per pack isn't incentive enough to quit I don't know what is :-)
Denstyr 06-16-2005, 10:45 PM Just an update on the quitting...
I went to the doc today to talk to him about quitting, and he ended up prescribing me "Welbutrin XL". So, hopefully in 3 weeks I'll be done smoking. We'll see...
KingofQueens23 06-16-2005, 11:05 PM Good Luck! You can do it!

Boxed_In 06-18-2005, 12:49 PM Don't bet on it, wait until the first time you bite into a piece of soft smooth creamy cheesecake with fresh strawberries on top whose flavor is not masked by a thin vail of cig and nicotine taste. WOW!!!! LOL

Thanks for askin' and carin' everyone!
Souljah347 07-12-2005, 11:50 PM the best way to quit smoking is cold turkey (at least it was for me) i tried to do the cut back thing but it never worked, and i was smoking 2 packs a day before i quit. best of luck :)
Denstyr 07-13-2005, 01:08 AM well, if I don't quit completely, right away, then this helps. But I'm sure I'll be done by the end of the month.

We had an ultrasound today. Here are the pics for those of you that are interested. Look! You can see her cute, albeit chubby, face already!!! lol I can't wait!!! She's 31 weeks tomorrow. Only about 10 to go!!! We're a lil anxious!! haha
Tentatively, her name should be Brianna Lynn. We haven't made it official just yet, but we'll know for sure when she "pops" out! lol

jennay 01-02-2006, 04:26 PM OMG!!! oh kerri's back must be killin her!!! cant wait for the lil booger to pop out!!! any day now right D?
krdshrk 01-02-2006, 04:33 PM Holy crap she looks huge now.
Denstyr 01-02-2006, 05:42 PM HAHA, yea she's pretty big, and yes her back does bother her. But what she wants most is one, to lay on her stomach again and two, have me crack her back. Both things can't happen til after the baby is born though. Brianna should be poppin' her head out sometime within the next 3 weeks. I'm hopin' sooner, of course! lol
krdshrk 01-02-2006, 07:53 PM I bet you it'll be sooner... she looks like she's gonna pop.....
Denstyr 01-02-2006, 07:56 PM too bad SIZE has nothing to do with it! but we are both hopin' for sooner, rather than later!! haha
CBSIMONSEZ 01-03-2006, 03:14 AM She was part of the Rose Bowl parade wasnt she? ROFLMAO
ikidikid Congrats to you both. Good luck with the final lap, your closing in on the finish line quickly.
Denstyr 01-03-2006, 03:18 AM ooooh!!! I'm tellin' her you said that!!! You thought Jen was bad with the beatings? Just you wait!!! lol
ikhonlord 01-03-2006, 01:40 PM Hey D!
Congrats and I am glad everything is going fine with kerri and the baby! Hope everything goes well!
Boxed_In 01-03-2006, 06:34 PM It's getting exciting Den! Hope her labor is short. Lori's was for two, Vinnie seemed like he was stuck in there with Krazy Glue, weeks overdue and she had to be induced and then there were still problems.
Witnessing the birth of your child will be the best memory you'll ever have. We wish you well!
Good luck and keep us posted!
Keith
Denstyr 01-03-2006, 08:33 PM Thanks alot guys! So far NO complaints from her. She's had a relatively "easy" pregnancy (So we've been told). We just can't wait for it to be over.
CBSIMONSEZ 01-04-2006, 12:07 AM Oh God ... dont watch. Youll never look at your wife in the same way again. I have heard this from several guys who watched.
Dont Do It! lol
Denstyr 01-04-2006, 04:33 AM I dunno if I will or not. We'll see when it happens, I guess.
good luck
and watch it...its truely amazing...the entire thing. My son is almost 6 and i remember everything like it was yesterday. I'll be honest...it was a little strange thinking about things after my son was born and he was home. Especially after a time frame when sex was OK again. But all that soon goes away...it all becomes 2 seperate things pretty quickly.

Denstyr 01-04-2006, 07:53 PM haha Jeff! Thanks for the advice! I think I will at least sneak a peek, and then decide to continue watchin' or not after. lol

i watched it on tv. i almost threw up a few times. truely the most disgusting thing i have ever seen. out poped the kid, followed buy a shot of some fluid. and it wasn't just a little shot. it was like a the delaware river trying to push through a little hole.
TheTC 01-04-2006, 11:36 PM congrats, welcome to the Next phase of your life....Its all good though! I got a 5 year old....good times! have fun and good luck!
Denstyr 01-06-2006, 07:23 PM I think I'll be fine with watching. I'm not a queasy kind of person. We'll see when the time comes, I guess.
Boxed_In 01-07-2006, 12:50 PM Good, don't miss the birth of your child. With my oldest he didn't breathe right away. The nurse couldn't get him to either. I saw the panic in the doctor and nurses faces and they said "get over here dad and spank him" So whap! he got his first spanking from dear old dad (and many more would come over the years :-) ) at less than a minute old. But because of insurance reasons and fear of being sued they woul;dn't smack him so I had to. I was furious and later had some good words with the hospital over that.
My daughter's was so fast the doctot barely had turned around from putting on his coat and pop there she was, he had to almost catch her, no lie! It was like watching a popcorn machine. LOL
Then Vinnie, oh man. She was in and out of the hospital for weeks with false labor and severe pains. Then when the day came she dilated and then nothing. She had to be induced and when the labor came on it came on hard and he still took his time coming out, she suffered with his.
Each were different and the best memories you could ever have.
Congratulations pal, enjoy!
BangorXB 01-25-2006, 07:59 PM any good news yet den?
CBSIMONSEZ 01-25-2006, 10:16 PM As of last night she still was preggers.
Denstyr 01-26-2006, 02:09 AM This just in!!! haha
We went to the doc today and he said the baby is 8 lbs 3 oz. Give or take 1 pound. Which means she's nice and healthy. Kerri will go into surgery (C-Section) on Friday, January 27 at 12 noon. Then we will be proud parents.
Thanks everyone for caring and wishin' us well. We truly appreciate it.
jennay 01-26-2006, 12:53 PM we want the baby! we want the baby! we want the baby!

krdshrk 01-26-2006, 05:01 PM Hmm. Scheduled C-Section? Your girl's gonna be too big to come out naturally?
CBSIMONSEZ 01-26-2006, 07:13 PM Hmm. Scheduled C-Section? Your girl's gonna be too big to come out naturally?
C section has become so popular the past 10 years im not surprised. It may actually be easier on the mother and the baby to take it vs. inducing labor and trying to force the kid out.
Denstyr 01-26-2006, 07:47 PM Thanks Chris for explaining that. That's a good point.
She, however, is havin' a C because she won't dilate. None of the females in her family did. The baby is good size, and is headed in the right direction. BUT she's not in the "birth canal" yet. Therefore a C is necessary.
Today if you're a certain age or have a history of problems, they will automatically schedule a C-section. If they know you can't dilate or give "natural" birth, they don't want the mother goin' through the pain of labor. It would be pointless.
Denstyr 01-27-2006, 04:42 AM Yes, we finally had the baby!! The silly child didn't wanna wait til tomorrow morning, like we all planned.
The water broke today around 5:30 PM. So we did some things here, then went to the hospital.
At 7:58 PM she was born! Weighin' in at a whopping 9 lbs 1 oz, and towerin' others at 21 3/4 inches!
Now, we'll be at the hospital for the next couple days, probably til Monday. Feel free to gimme a call!!
Thanks everyone for all of your support!!! We greatly appreciate it!!!
We love MOST of you people here!! lol
Dennis, Kerri, and Brianna!
