What would you consider is a show level Scion? I mean, how modded out would your Scion have to be before considering putting it for show judgement? Or would you even consider it?
Ive seen alot of xA pics, most from Cali shows, and those cars are mostly sponsored cars. Blitz..Overboost..Pioneer..ABC Company. So those cars of course spared no expense. But how about you and I?
Being in the SE and Scions just going for sale in Feb here... not many Scions around. And there are some shows coming very soon with a "SPECIFIC" Scion car class for judgement 8)
Is your typical show class car have to be ALL vinyled and roll called out.. or just anything which is beyond stock and looking nicely modded out?
Curious since Im fairly new to this scene, but since there will be this new show class... there wont be many registering :D And my local shop, which is BTW a main distributor in the SE for many brands such as Greddy, Blitz etc. Asked me today about being his "Scion community" contact. Which brought me to this idea..maybe get discounts or even free stuff for letting them put theyre name on my car etc.. to be removed at a later time of course :D Making it "showclass"?
Thanks

I'm not into the asian car show scene but from what I've seen you will need a body kit, huge graphics, a monster sterio and all the bolt on "bling" crap you can find on the engine.
I would not consider entering my car in a show because it would be ignored- there is nothing on it that doesn't make it handle better or increase HP.

I always thought of classic cars and hotrods when I thought of a show car, and knew that they have to achieve an extremely high level of perfection in every mod that is made, plus be ultra clean. spotless even.
But the guys here in San Diego enlightened me. They say that the import scene is more geared to "the more the better", regardless of what's being slapped on there. He who has the most mods wins. (Even if some them don't actually work!)
On the one hand, it's kind of disheartening because someone is always going to have more than you do. I, personally, refuse to get caught up in some race to keep up with countless, pointless mods. I do love looking at and admiring all the cars of the people who are into that, though. It's great to see how inventive people get with their mods.
On the other hand, this looser atmosphere can free you up to enter a car show for the fun of it, and to shrug it off if you don't win. You go to have a good time, to hang out, and to have your car seen, to justify to your sponsors that you are performing on your contract.
As far as a minimum... you would definitely need the basics... Wheels, tires, lowering springs, cold air intake, strut bar, lights... and on top of that whatever it takes to make your car a unique beauty, something to be admired.
But be aware before you go paying any high entry fees... as in most everything, a lot of politics are involved. Most times, it's who you know that determines whether or not you get a prize.
I have been in 3 shows since I've had my car. I live up in Seattle, so there aren't any other ones up here yet. There are a few xB's that are at shows, but so far, it's only been my xA. Well, there has been a Scion booth, but they aren't competing. ALl I have done is my rims and lowered. But, that doesn't matter to me. I enter my car because I'm proud of my car, and I want people to see it. There have been so many people that have come up to me and want to know about the car.
I don't enter these shows with the hopes of winning. Not yet, at least. I go to support my team, and to let people in the Northwest know that these cars really are cool.

As far as showing you xa and what mods you need , it just depends mine is completely gone through and pretty insane as of now and usualy wins everthing it goes to because it is different its not a honda or an acura or any other normal 4 door and most judges know that everything on the car has had to be fabbed cuz there isnt anything bolt on for the car ... the guys that kinda slam show cars and the politics of shows are the guys who usualy go buy everything they need off the shellf and there is 50 other cars tht look exactly the same and they wonder why they dont win everyshow they goto dont get me wrong i love the B's but ive been to a couple shows where there is 10 to 12 of them and they all look EXACTLY the same just different colors that isnt a show car that is a carbon copy of someo0ne elses visions .
if you like your car and it has your personalitie SHOW it its yours and just see how it does and build from there...
