Default dash appliques

Have any of you experience with vinyl dash appliques? The info I need includes, but is not limited to; ease of application
amount of coverage (do they wrap around the curved surfaces)
do they look 'tacky'
Keep in mind I am what some would consider an 'old fart' with little patience or creativity .
Thanks for any help you can provide.

vinyl is not the way to go at all, go with one of the more high quality sets like at partshippers.com. Check my pictures out in my xb i have the blue black carbon fiber appliques and couldn't be happier. vinyl can get messed up with air bubbles and stuff, the stuff i have from partshippers pretty thick glossy material with 3M backing on it. So easy to install, just heat it up somewhat, clean the surface, stick and press!

That's the kind of feedback I'm looking for.
I have a follow-up. This'll probably make you laugh, but there are some expensive 'woodgrain' dash kits. I don't recall the material - but they are much more expensive than the vinyl the one fellow said to stear away from. From your experience, do you think these would work as well as yours.
ThanksAgain,

Yeah I had a nice thick kit like the blue one as well as a vinyl kit , and yes the vinyl ones pretty much suck , but yeah. I took them both off , just too damn much going on.

yeah james gang, they make that same kit in basically any woodgrain you'd like. search AAAexotics.com, no it's not a **** site, this is the main manufacturer of all dashkits in cars worldwide. have fun wit it

Appreciate it. When I go to dress up the interior I'll stick with the better products.
