Default 10" sub enclosure by Scosche installed **PIX** Added

I got the enclosure in the mail yesterday and put it in. It sounds pretty good; not as loud as the 12" MTX sub box I had in there.

The fit is great. They supply you with a template if you want to cut a hole into the factory panel to install the speaker grill. You don't have to do this and could keep a stealth look.

I'll post some pics later after work. I now need a good place to put my amp.

returned mine back to crutchfield today cuz the max mounting depth is 4.75". But i'm sure if you use spacer rings, it should not matter too much. My driver required at least 1.5 in. more...

^^^nice...did the grill come with the package as well? IMO, you should hide the amp under the front seat for a cleaner look.

I need about the same space as you do and they don't make it yet except for the new audioformz which is about $300 so i made my own

alot of pioneers and audiobahns will fit. i know my 3 year old pioneer impp 10's fit fine is small boxes like that . just look up mounting depths and work from there. blau also makes shallow subs as well as alphasonik

pioneer, audiobahn, blaupunkt, alphasonik....all not good subs.....try Elemental design....they're a site sponsor (discount for SL members)....and their subs are reccommended for small enclosures, plus they'll sound better than all aforementioned........JL W1's sound REALLY good for the price!! look around, you'll find something you like....

Would there be any sound muffling/cancellation with the cover over the sub?

Where can you still buy JLW1's? I ran a pair of 12W1's for years and absolutely loved them. This time around I'm only looking to run 1 10W1, but saw of JL Audio's website that they are discontinued.

Would there be a better value out there in that price range than JL? It's been a long time since I've been in the car audio scene . . . JL was simply the best when I got out of it. Have things changed?

JL just came out with a new W1 (for 2005 I believe).... JL is still an EXCELLENT brand with awesome products all around!!! there are others that are up there as well but some won't be as easy on the pocketbook.....even JL's lower end products can put out superb sound quality!!

I don't know about the muffling/cancellation issue with the cover.....that may be why the hole was cutout and the grill installed...

Looks good, but I don't see how you could install it without cutting up your factory cover. Without adding that grill, it would just be all muffled and probably rattle like hell. I'd rather not cut my factory cover, so it looks like I'll pass on this one.
