I'm not sure if this should be under this section or not, but I figured engine would be under power, so anyways...

Are these motors normally loud. I have nothing to compare my xB too.

Now when I say loud, I mean pingy, if that makes sense. When I open the hood I can hear tick, tap, tick, tap, tick, tap, tick, tap... Like valve tapping. It is coming from the intake manifold area as far as I can tell..

I don't know if it is just crappy oil the manufacturer used or what. I am due for my first oil change in like 2-300 miles. If it is crappy oil, that would help explain the below par MPG.

Just thought it was strange. Maybe I'll go by the dealership and have them start up another xB and see.

Anyways, anyone else have a loud motor? Maybe I'll try to make a sound clip.
