Who makes rear disk brakes for the Scion Xb? I found Precision (http://www.precisionbrakescompany.com/), but does any other company? Anyone using Precision? Would you have to drop the one ton garage spacer if you went to rear disk?

Hmm, I didn't realize our 2,400 lbs cars needed rear discs. Mine seems to stop fine during spirited driving.

i think he wants it more for looks since you're right, it stops fine already. i admit it looks goofy, but i cant justify blowing even 600 on something that basically i wont notice

I talked to Precision today and these kits can be custom colored and sized. Each set is made to order and they can use larger rotors if you want to fill bigger wheels. The lead time is 8 weeks for these kits. JD Performance has done a couple kits for Xbs and these are wilwood parts all the way. This kit is excellent but very pricey. JD is still working out the kinks on a hyrdraulic parking brake which would be $300 or so more.

Has anyone installed one of these kits? Reviews?

Someone here installed a big brake kit up front and a converstion kit in the rear, see think and read the threads, I think it was in there. Anyways, he stated braking was basically insane

wet blanket reminder again: the bigger the tire radius the less effective is a given brake setup.

with stock sized tires or smaller, the braking of the xB is superb.

most of the braking is done by the front rotors. and werrry well done it is- at no additional charge.

the bigger the tire radius the less braking torque we get.

Hey quadoptix, Mind if I ask what the wilwood set up ran you. I was just on their web site yesterday checking it out but I wasn't sure if it was just a front set or if it was both.

basically it cost me nothing. My friend got a free xA from scion and built it and when it came time to crush the car, he took the brakes off n gave it to me as a present. the rear kit IS NOT AVAILABLE only the front. If you do want the front setup , i do sell it for $1200 brand new.
