I finally decided to get out of my New Beetle after six years and pick up an xB. The first dealership I visited was Scin of Grapevine. My initial contact with them over the phone was great, so I expected good things from them. I set an appointment and a few days later made the two hour drive to teh dealership. Once there, I dealt with three different salespeople. They offered me $9,000 for my New Beetle and said they would see when they could get an xB for me and call me back within a few hours. Five hours later, they still had not called. Overall, not the best experience with this dealer.

Before making the two hour drive home, I decided to stop in at Toyota/Scion of Irving. Totally different experience. I dealt with one person the entire time and he was a great guy. He even offered me $2,500 more for my trade than the other place. So, my new xB should arrive at Scion of Irving in a couple of days. If you're shopping for a Scion, go see Kurt Jensen at Scion of Irving.

Congrats on the new xB and welcome to ScionLife! Sounds like the New Beetle has one heck of a trade-in value.

Sounds to me like the gentlemen at the first dealership you went to, were not too excited to make a sale. On the brighter side, it sounds like you have a dedicated salesman at the Irving dealer. It's nice dealing with one person who knows what they are doing when it comes to car sales. That's the way it was for me when I bought my RS2 xA and it was a fantastic experience.

Oh, and just out of curiosity your first name isn't Nick is it? :ponder:

Yeah it's basically an abbreivated version of my name. I use it on some other forums I visit.

I thought it was pretty cool/ironic. :D
