DISCONNECT THE BATTERY BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING!!!!!!!
Two screws on either side of the wheel, remove those... airbag should come out. Disconnect airbag. Take large breaker bar and pop that nut in the middle. Pull/shimmy/shake wheel off. Bingo.

I bought a "splash" steering wheel hub from RoBear racing comes with all the goodies to take care of the air bag light. as far as removal I didnt un hook the batt. but to each there own. remove the 2 screws in the rear of the wheel un hook bag , remove the nut in the center and you can pull the wheel off with a little giggle of it. and bolt the new hub on . and find you a wheel

You ever see an airbag go off? Some scary ____. I used to work at a dealership and we would always detonate old airbag units. They will launch themselves like 30 feet in the air when they go off. Better safe than sorry.

Isn't the idea for them to go off before your head slams into the wheel?

its actually really easy. i did the same thing bbism did. only difference is im using a sparco hub instead of a splash or momo one. i unplugged the battery just to be safe.
