Default Yet another iPod question.

Sorry, I know this has been asked before; I've done a search but I'm not finding exactly what I'm looking for. All I want to know is, can an iPod connection be hooked up to the factory xB radio -- the regular stereo, not the one with the CD changer. I really just want a jack, I'm not looking for fancy interfaces or charging or anything. And if so, what do they hook it up to, and what setting do I use on the radio to hear the iPod? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Default ipod in car

Go to this website and buy an interface:

http://store.yahoo.com/logjam/pietoy03aux.html

I just bought one and installed it in my xB for my Zen Micro. It will also work with the Ipod. It takes about 2 minutes to remove the center dash piece then another 2 to remove the stereo. The interface plugs into the back of the stock, non cd changer stereo, then you plug in an RCA to 3.5 mm cable to the interface. ( the cable costs $6 at Radio Shack). You plug the other end of the cable into your headphone jack in the Ipod and just hit the "cd" button twice on the stereo to hear sound from the Ipod. I drilled a hole through the side at the very back of the storage compartment in the dash and snaked the cable through the hole. I took out the glove box to mount the interface with some double sided tape and wrapped the extra cable to some existing wires. You would have no idea that there was an MP3 player attached to the factory stereo unless you opened the door in the dash. I've seen other people on this site recommend another company which is about $5 less, but they've been out of stock. I ordered from Logjam and had it two days later. There is no way to hook an Ipod or any MP3 player for that matter to the factory stereo without some sort of interface.
