Did you/should you lightly sand the cover 1st? or just use a aheasive promoter and start? i also want to mask off certain area but the cover seems to be too slick for the tape to stick down, any info on that?

i want to do it black and white. any tips on how to paint the letters? spray or brush?

Use a 1200 or higher wet/ dry sand paper to prep it ,don't use anything more corse it will leave scratch marks. Than tape off the area you want to paint diffent colors, than spay bully dog adhesion promoter let dry about 15 min. than spray your color. let the color dry or you will pull up the paint you taped off.

i believe creative Compacts or someone has them for $105.

I will wish you guys would put together a sub box for the LEFT side of the xB.
Or better yet, a nice dual 12" that's removable!

heres mine i didnt sand at all for fear of scratches, it has not peeled or chipped at all.
just use any kind of masking tape do not use very strong sticking tape, because the silver color on the letters could come off when removing the tape, use an x-acto knife very slowly to remove any edges of tape that are not needed for the covering purposes.

test the paint color on the underneath side FIRST, to make sure it is the hue you want as it will come out a little darker than you plan.

Pretty easy to do, not that expensive and the turn around was only a couple of days. Chris from n2htwlz whom some of you may know the “Hot Wheels” XB, CHris is the bomb for paint work. If you want a color theme in the engine bay and wan't to have that unique look and presentation. Pack up all the engine bay goodies and send it off to be painted.

I personally dont like the CF ones, to tell you the truth i dont like CF period, i know im in the minority here, i just dont like all the texture. As far as the CF cover goes, it has no badge or VVT on it, i dunno, not really feelin it. NOW if you guys sold painted stock covers, you would clean up. Theres a guy in Texas selling them i think for $200 a pop

Hey Viniati, 1: thanks for the lower price, since you were cool enough to do that, i will purchase from you. 2: in your pic on the site, there is 4 holes on the cover. but on the ACTUAL engine cover for the tc there is only 2 holes on the bottom half of the cover.. whats that about?
