check out my skyfi2 XM install
ok, i've had my Skyfi2 for as long as i've had my car. but, mounting it has always been the downfall. i had it mounted on the gooseneck that connected to the bolt on the passengers seat rail. but, it was constantly hit by everyone's knees, this didn't allow me to pull the seat all the way forward for "conversation seating" and i had trouble getting into the glovebox sometimes. long story short, it ended up breaking on me, which is good because it was alot of trouble.
anyways, i tried the vent mount that came with it, but i don't trust it. our vent fins are flimsy and it would block the all ready weak fan from blowing a/c.
i didn't want to try the mount that has the sticky pad on it, because i figured it wouldn't stick to the rice paper dash, and i couldn't hide the wires well.
then i tried and ordered a cup mount, which i got today. but it sits so high, i can't shift without bumping it. even if i put it in the back cup holder. so thats a no go
so, i bought the suction cup mount for the windshield. i mounted it next to the mirror. i ran all the wires up the A pillar (i don't have airbags) i have the AUX input PIE for the 05 scion headunit. it works great, i just use the headphone output to RCAs then connect it to the unit. sounds like cd quality
the suction cup works great because it is made by akron, which is a leader in mounts. you twist a collar around the suction cup for it to stick. even if you don't twist it, it still sticks really well. my brother in law has the same one and it's never fallen off. cool. enjoy!

thats not a wire. all the wires go up through the headliner. thats actually a lanyard that holds my glowrings (they don't sell them in the US anymore, they glow for 10 years)
anyways, you can kinda see what i mean in the following pic, older pic

hey man, looks pretty good--i like it. i really wanted a skyfi2 but couldn't find a way to cleanly mount it, so i ended up getting a terk commander.
do you have any pics from slightly farther away? perhaps one that shows how it'd look like from the driver's position or maybe even behind the driver's seat? how's the visibitly of it since it's high? also does, the light from it bother you at night, being so close to the rear view mirror?
