So I'm getting an '06 tC soon...

Can I install Sirius myself with the stock HU? Or does choosing the "Sirius" accessory from Scion come with something more? I thought it would just be the stock HU, and they're charging more for the install and equipment...right? $400+ is a little steep if that is the case.

 

In order to install sirius you have to order the scion accessory sirius car kit which comes with the tuner and antenna designed for the stock HU. You can't use any aftermarket car kits, it won't work. You also need the fit kit for sirius that includes an adapter for the wiring harness so that it will fit in the sirius tuner, I guess it was originally prewired for XM only.

Okay, hmmm...and you're sure this is the case for the '06 HU as well? Would it be any different if I were to go XM?
