Default easy ignition ring light color change for tC

Ok, I got bored today and decided to do this color change. this is a real basic way to do this that does not involve extensive soldering or any electrical work. This is a real easy way to do this.

Tools:

thin clear plastic 1/2" X 3/16" (i used a piece from a box of nails, the plastic window)
sharpie marker of you chosen color (i chose green)
the removed key ring assembly

To remove the key ring assembly:

REMOVE BATTERY CABLE (this is a must when unplugging things that could cause the car to never operate again).
stick key into ignition to on position and rotate wheel to access two phillips screws to remove upper and lower plastic covers.
unplug black cable from key ring assembly and gently pull assembly towards you.

preparing the colored plastic:
cut the plastic to 1/2" X 3/16" (this size can be varied to fit properly between LED and clear plastic)
color the hole piece with the sharpie and let dry for a minute

disassembling the key ring assembly:

insert small tip flat head screwdriver between black labeled ring and clear ring and another screwdriver below the ring where the clear piece is attached to the black part. repeat on the other side

if done correctly, the clear plastic should be separated and still attached to the tape.

___] LED [_____

[plastic]
[ tape ]
place the colored plastic in the center of where the tape is so that the plastic will bend over the led and between the clear ring plastic

------------(ring)

[plastic]
[led]

when the ring is placed back onto the black assembly the plastic should be between the led and the ring plastic
reverse the removal process

you should now have a cool looking key ring mod like so:

it looks better than the pic gives credit.

I told you it was easy, now have at it!
