What gauge is the aftermarket adapter for radios? I think it is 16 but not 100%. So assuming that it is can I use 14 gauge to extend the wire? Or can I use speaker wire as a ground wire? Yeah I am that dumb when it comes to this kind of stuff. Any help is appreciated.

 

it's 16 i beleive; though 14 is good to "extend" the wires.. but why? you can get the wiring harness at walmart (scosche brand TA02[1])

what is it you plan to do? if you need to ground an aftermarket radio; the harness contains a ground already.

 

Thank you for your response the reason is to run a ground to the parking brake for the dvd portion.

 

That is a signal wire, so 16 will be fine.
