Default Trade in Tc 05 for 06?

Hello,

I don't know why, but I've decided to go to the dealership to trade in my Indigo Ink Pearl Tc 05 that's only 2 months and 4.5k miles old for the Nautical Blue 06. Is that a good idea? I'm truly going to miss the "In Dash 6-Disc CD Player" but I can easily replace it with the IPOD. AND the 06 has the buttons on the steering wheel! I'm not too sure though, should I do that? I'll transfer my upgrades from my 05 to the 06 anyways. I think it's a fair trade because it's like renewing the engine and repainting it. But please voice your opinions, I can't decide on my own!

Thanks,
Tim

Short answer: "No"

Long answer: If you really want to get a 06, I recommend selling your 05 to a private aprty. You are not going to get as much if you try to trade it in. Just because dealerships are selling used tcs, doesn't mean you can sell it back without a huge loss. You better off using the money you would lose to upgrade your 05.

You'll be upside-down $3k-5k, depending on what options you bought on the '05, and what you'd want on the '06.

I personally don't see the reasoning. There's certainly no reason big enough to warrant that cash loss.

The buttons on the steering wheel thing isn't something to rave over. Someone said when you put in an aftermarket system, the buttons don't work anymore.

Well, I wanted to repaint my car the Nautical Blue since the Dark Blue attracts me more... And repainting the WHOLE car would cost almost as much as the car. So might as well trade in my car for it right?

might as well just be happy with your IIP. All that for a different color, and most people probably wouldn't notice the difference.

Hey, you live in Orange County...you're supposed to do stuff like this. Trade it in and be the envy of your neighbors!

LOL, that's true, in my neighborhood, there's a Tc for every color. I just want a upgrade plus when I first bought the Tc... I wished it were a LITTLE darker. So I'm getting my spoiled brat wish by paying for it.

I have a Flint Mica '06 and I LOVE it! I don't know about the blue -- I'm kinda against owning another blue vehicle since my last one was a "blue beast". Other than color, the '06 is pretty cool. The Ipod hook up (to me) totally outweighs the 6 disc in dash player...simply because I have way more than 6 discs on my ipod!!!

The steering wheel controls --- some may have had an issue with them not working due to the (for lack of better terms) "serial port" connection and the pins not all being there due to installing '05 connections instead of the '06. Mine were re-installed correctly and all is working well!

Cheers

Yeah, she's got a point, except for the blue. I think Blue is an AWESOME color, but then again that's MY OPINION. I'm thinking 'bout doing the trade since my argument is repainting+steering wheel+Ipod Capability+new engine AND the bragging right of having an 06 car.

a new engine?!? your engine is ALREADY new! its freaking two months old!! And you want to paint your car a color that is ALMOST IDENTICAL to the one you already have?! And you know, you are going to lose thousands of dollars for just for a few buttons on your steering wheel. is it really that hard to reach ALL the way over the the head unit to change the volume?!

im sorry, but you are either the stupidest person on the planet, or just very spoiled.

i didnt mean to come off as an a$$ hole but i dont understand your reasoning for anything. how old are you?

I have a better idea! I'll go to home depot, have them mix up some "Nautical Blue", paint your car for you, then you can pay me $3,000. PM to work it out.

(j.k.) And no I dont think its worth it. Sorry.
