Is there any way at all to use the tripod "horn" from war of the worlds as my car horn?
I would just love to scare the ____ out of people at random times.

I think he means the loud fog-horn sound that they made before they started vaporizing people.. It's a really deep sounding horn.. Kinda like a tuba on crack

You can get Hella airhorns (Hella the brand, not "hell of a") for just about any car. They're pretty loud. Cheers.

even off branded horns do the trick.. at autozone/chucker/shucks/or pep boys you can get air horns and conch horns

The sound isn't exclusive to the 'heat ray gun'.. The sound was also used by the 'harvester' type tripods to tell the aliens to come up out of the basement..
