Default Chair Broke!!

I bought the car for my fiance and yes she could drive a stick very well. Well after reclining the ____er all the way back to lay it flat.. I was in oooh and aaah"s, then when I go to put it back up, it was stuck... kept trying to find a way without forcing to release the position, but i had to pull on it, and after it would no longer lock in place no matter what position! So i took it to the dealership.. they gave me a Murano rental and are awaiting the part to fix it, about 1 week. Well if this keeps happening, ill be for sure to use the lemon law. BTW I ordered mine black sand pearl, fogs door sills, and all weather floor mats. After ordering it, saying it was going to arrive in 6 to 8 weeks, we received it in 4 weeks! Got it this past friday, broke it friday.. and have been driving a murano ever since!.. lol..

Hopefully this car seems like it has potential, I hope toyota did there job on the engine to hold boost, like what nissan did with the Sr20. I think for now, ill be ordering the VVTI- controller, magnaflow exhaust, alphaworks header, tein suspension, motorworks rear bar, and progress sway TWM SS stage 2. Im just waiting on magnaflow to come out with there exhaust and AEM with the CARB CAI so that I can just order all this crap at once. I hope itll be faster than at least one of my sentra's

I have had rear strut bars in the past, and they didnt work. And with how the suspension is set up on the tC in the rear, their is no need for a strut bar. Yet, the TRD Rear sway bar helped alot! And I believe it is cheaper as well. The rear strut bar is bling... and hard to see bling at that. The holes for the bar are too big (yes i know it is for fitment), but they holes should be just big enough for the thread to pass thru. $175 could be spent on so many other differant things that actually produce a result.

is it normal for the passenger side seat release (the top one) to be a lot stiffer than the driver's side one?

Same thing happened to me.... Twice!

I guess I use the "comfort seating" a little too much...

The worst part of the seat breaking though was driving stick while literally hanging on to the steering wheel to support myself. Try bending the chair all the way down and driving and you'll see what I mean. It was torture.

Anyway, the first time it happened they just adjusted some cables or something. The second time it happened they said fixed the linkage assembly. So I'm not really sure specifically what it was. It really shouldn't take more than 2 hours to fix. It took my dealership about an hour to fix both times. I'm actually really suprised you got a loaner. And it was a Murano!

The dealership called us today, and said that the seat will be in next week.
I guess they had to replace the whole seat. Im guessing jroc, if it breaks a 2 more times, you are able to use the lemon law.

Fiance speaking: LOL but we weren't. At least that might have been worth it. I was just experimenting with the seats since I read on the forum that you can do that. I was kind of worried they would not fix it under warranty, since I thought I was doing something I wasn't suppose to be doing with the car. It wasn't until after I dropped the car off at the service dept. that I read in the owners manual about it. If it's printed in the owners manual than it shouldn't happen right? I'm getting the car back next week. I still want to try it again, but I'm scared that I'll break it again lol. They did try to fix that cable thing first but no go.

As for the rental, I was actually given a choice between a Ford Focus and Mustang. But then he offered me a free upgrade because he got there late. I waited for Hertz to arrive about 10 minutes after giving my car to the service dept. Not that long, yet he kept apologizing.

After reclining the seat all the way back, the seat often seems to get stuck in the "unlockable" position.

There is an easy way out of this, as far as I can tell - Put the seat back into "sleep" position, then release the seat position levers. Then MANUALLY PRESS THE SEATBACK FURTHER DOWN (even flatter) UNTIL IT CLICKS. It doesn't take too much of a press.

I've used the "sleep" position many times and it became unlockable almost every time. The above method also worked every time it happened.

You shouldn't be doing the nasty in the tC. Chair is designed for 1 person at a time!
