Default OEM O2 sensor wideband?

There have been a few posts mentioning that the O2 sensor on our tC is already wideband. so is anyone working on a way to run a wideband guage off the original equipment?
It could possibly save people going FI $200+ rather than purchasing a 3rd party wideband unit. could we possibly tap into the signal going to the ECU for readings?

I can't speak for all the widebands out there, but the AEM unit that we have uses its own signal that im sure is different then the output from the factory A/F sensor.

I am pretty sure also that the AEM is a 0-5v type of wideband and the stock one is completely different. I think maybe some obd2 scanners (like autotap and scan tool) might be avle to read the stock "a/f ratio sensor" and tell u a/f ratios and log it also. If i remember some newer hondas had them and they were accurate to .1 between 11.5:1 and 15.5:1 which is enough to tune with. actually go here http://www.brockwayengineering.com/products.html (just found the site) and read the bottom paragraph. Maybe if you give them an e-mail they will tell you if it is or not. anyways good luck and let us know what you find.
