Default Injen CAI mounting (vibrating) bracket ??

Ok i got installed the INJEN CAI. now the bracket you have to place in the fenderwell where the filter is is moving alot. The reason being is that the hole for the bracket no way in hell matches up with the hole to place it in to secure it. So i ziptied it with in the hole. It looked and seemd like it would do the job, but coming home from the install and at a stop light i would hear D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D where the end piping it banging on the finder repeativley.

Now my questions for you guys ..

was your mounting bracket easy to fit in place with the little hole ??

am i doing something wrong ??

what can i do to fix it ??

oh and pics would helps alot too !!

thanx

k&n has the same problem. Anything to put between there should be ok. Make sure it can take a little heat though.

no its hitting on the inner fender . i put the plastic peices around there and its not hitting the sharp edges. It's hitting where the fender is but inside. Right were the second pipe bends through the little hole.

Dude, something must be wrong. The clearance is good with the inside of the fender. You must have put the vibra mount in the wrong location or something.

I had the vibration, but it was coming from the pipe touching with to much force the opening into the fender. I have the rubber pieces on each side *upper and lower* parts of the opening. I felt around and decided to just try to adjust its position. I loosened the upper mount and shifted the bolt on the mount towards the outside of the bracket and then tightened it back down. This effectively moved the pipe away from the lower part of the fender opening and reduced if not completely eliminated the vibration.

Give it a try.

I went to Lowes and picked up a foam rubber insulation tube from the plumbing section. Cut a snip from it, and stuck it in where the intake meets the fender.

Cost of foam tubbing = $3.80

Satisfaction from no more rattling vibration = Priceless

For everything else there's Turbo's...lol
