Default Carbon/Kevlar roof just arrived, approx 15 lbs, no pics;)

Note: This is in corner carvers because that is what it is for, to make the car carve corners better, the only reason we have it;)

Kaminari made this for our project car to help us shed some weight in a very critical area since we are going to autocross in SM class against STI's, M3's, etc. We have to take some drastic steps to even think about being competitive and we are doing them, many done, many more to come.

The design calls for removing the glass, leaving the rest of the roof parts in place but we want even more weight reduction so will remove all the factory structure and make some aluminum mounts to attach it with.

Not posting pics now, new website is being built, will post them a bit later on when I have more time to do it right.

It is black gel coat on the outside and has a thick layer of carbon/kevlar on the inside which will be covered in very low weight insulating foam and maybe cloth over that.

Kaminari has not given me any time frame of when these will be available for sale.

Same here. Maybe with this new roof, it might eliminate the rattle.

We bought one Sparco race seat to test fit with the agreement we could bring it back if not damaged in anyway. The next day I was offered a sponsorship deal for Racetech seats which they knew might happen so we took the Sparco back.

Sparco brackets do not fit Racetech seats, we had to do major cutting and welding on the brackets and steal the Recaro sliders from my truck so we could autocross on Sunday.

Anybody planning on putting Sparco or any other racing seats in their car which have a narrower mounting base than reclining seats needs the adaptors we endup up having to keep so hopefully we can find a buyer. They will fit Sparco and most other racing seats but not Racetech, they have a nice molded bottom that makes them very comfortable but limits what sliders you can use with them.

All in all it worked out well, I was able to trim a couple of pounds off each bracket and slider set and not use the adaptors at all. . Our seats with mounts and sliders now weight 24 lbs per side, the stock drivers seat weighed in at 49 lbs, the passengers is probably 39 at least so we are saving around 40 lbs on seats alone, not bad

I had to order some Recaro sliders to fit the seats properly, another $210 shipped, bought them online because they assured me they would work and would take them back if they did not. The online shop it less than ten miles from us anyway

You are welcome to come out and take a few pics but the car looks pretty tame as we planned it to be and alot of the parts are not on it just yet, waiting for some time to get it all done, this weekend we have to get out shop up and running then we can get back to the car project.

that would be cool if you made the cf roof, but it still could open.
