Default Short ram quick questions... Injen and Weapon R....

I'm deciding between one or the other. The Injen is a full CAI system that can be converted to a short ram. Weapon R you can buy a 'cold air box' and some other stuff to go with it. Just was wondering on opinions.

Also, any issues w/ sensors and check engine light on either?

Lastly, I saw a post where a guy wrapped his short ram pipe with thermal shield tape. Does this really make any kind of difference? Here's the link to the tape...

Thanks.

Well, I've only had my WR Secret Weapon SRI about a week now, but no issues yet. It's a nice intake and you can't argue with the dyno'd performance.
As far as wrapping the intake pipe. It will do some good with preventing heat soak from the engine. That combined with the cold air box would probably keep your intake air within a couple degrees of ambient temp.

well i have the injen, i took out that little vent the in lower part of the bumper so it gets a lot of air. i bought the intake for 230 shipped. i couldnt be more pleased. i love it! it can also be converted to short ram when/if needed in the rainy season. it also sounds really deep.

the WR, if you bought the intake and cold air box the box would prevent some heat from the filter however it would still not be drawing in cold air. you would have to get their ram air kit... and the cost of all of these... well is very pricey.
from their website it costs $233 for the intake, $105 for the airbox, and $52 for the ram air kit... thats $390 total for the intake setup... ide rather get the injen intake, and a DC strut bar... but thats just my .02 cents
