I do a lot of interstate traveling and wanted a new exhaust that doesn't drone while on the freeway. Any thoughts from those of you who who have aftermarket exhausts? Thanks

stick with stock and buy a different tip....

or have one made with a longer resonator and larger muffler to make it quiet... i'm getting a magnaflow setup on my car... 18" resonator and 6"x14" round muffler... should be pretty quiet.

I rented an xB on Friday and throught the same thing. While cruising the stock exhuast was really loud. I posted a thread and someone recommended that I take to Gabe @ www.PrecisionMuffler.com. Apparently he has an axile back system for the 5-speed xB.

I have not gotten my xB yet (June!), but the stock exhuast will be one of the first things that go!!!

Borla is very quiet. The link below will take you to two video clips w/ sound of the Borla. Enter the site and then select the Borla album (its the only one). There are two videos. One of them, "Borla Drive", is an interior shot while driving. The videos are hosted on a temporary free site, so I think it expires on April 20th.

so you are stock now and its still to loud? Do you have the 5 speed or auto? This is very interesting.

Is the borla exhuast more restrictive thus making it quieter than stock? I'm just concerned about losing torque with the little amount of torque we already have.

anything other than the stock muffler will be louder. There is nothin queiter than the stock muffler. Except a bigger muffler. 8)

Thats my answer too. I will just be happy with stock then. Unless a bigger muffler is possible on the xB.

Nah...Its just the sound of high revs in 5th gear, I think. Probably the only way to fix that is change the gears out. I will keep it the way it is.

My Tanabe axle-back is pretty quiet. At 4k rpm, and 80 mph on the freeway, I hear the air being sucked into the intake, more than coming out of the muffler.
