I was wondering if anyone else is having any issues with there car starting.

Mine take 4 or 5 attempts to start it once in a great while. This is maybe 1 out of 75 starts. This is on a mechanically stock 5 Speed XB with less then 2000 miles. Its also usually when the car is semi warm. Last night it took 3 trs after it had sat for about an hour.

Its not that big of a deal I guess, I just wondering if it is a sign of trouble coming.

mine doesn't take more than one key turn... however.. the turn is quite long...

i have to hold it foward much longer than I did in my 94 grand am... dunno it it's just me...

i used to have the same problem, it ususally happens when you dont put the clutch in all the way or put it in hard enough. it is a long turn though.

if you are having trouble with warm starting it could be a faulty coolant temp sensor
i would recommend taking to dealer for warranty repair :)

The clutch has to be in for the starter to even crank.

However, the engine has to turn a certain amount for the ECU to read the sensors and start the injectors squirting. I was used to a carburated VW that started on the first engine turn and the Scion's longer cranking before firing seemed like it wasn't starting correctly. Once you learn to do it the way the Scion's computer demands the car starts acceptably.

i was begining to worry. im glad mine wasn't the only one that doesn't start right away too.

Yeah it does seem long, haha. I'm used to my Sentra and it's quick starts. I was wondering if there was a problem with the battery. It just seems to take that long on all starts though.
