Default Help have excessive wear on rear wheels on my 2004 xb

Hi, Does anybody know why it is that when my Xb has it's factory wheels I get normal wear on my rear tires, but if I use my custom 17's with low profile tires these will not last 2 full months without going bald on rear axle. Please let me know whats causing it and if you know what I can do to fix it. Thanks for your time.

How do the tires wear? Are you on stock springs? I know there has been some problems on some XB's that have some weird alignment specs on the back. But that doesn't really account for the difference in wheels.

They wear from corner to corner in a slant all the way through to the belts (cloth like mat). It does have RS JDM lowering springs, but I have had the factory wheels back on for two months with lowering springs and there is no sign of even or uneven wear with these. It is only used to and from work. Tire places around my area state there is no adjustment for rear axle/suspension.

true...sorta; there's no adj on the rear axle; but some xbs have had alignment checks and found out that ex: both rear tires were leaning to the right/left or toeing funny... that's odd that it would be w/custom wheels.

is the wheel on w/a hubcentric spacer? what kind of lug nuts? tightened to spec?

got pics?

im guessing you already checked the air in all the tires

any rub spots?

you say it wore in a slant from corner to corner..? im not comprehending... a slant usually indicates camber wear; but alternating slant means alignment (slants left for a few inches/right for a few)

I thought maybe the rear axle is offset to right or left but why does the wear only show when the 17's are installed. I'm not using spacers of any sort. The lug nuts I believe are the correct ones and torqued per the manual. I dont have a way to get digital pictures, but I will draw it somewhat below. Air pressure was not checked, but I will do thatl. No rub spots. Slants were alternating slants they looked like waves, and you say it is an alignment problem. Slants were both wheels and same direction. Still if it has an offset on rear axle then why only affect 17's. And my main question would be how do I fix that.

My bet is it is wearing with both sets of wheels but the factory tires are a much harder coumpound then what you run on the 17's so its not going to show as quickly. I'd say take it to the dealership and let them check it, or an alignment shop. They should atlest be able to figure out what the problem is.
