XBman 04-01-2004, 01:20 AM hey all, Does anyones XB over heat, when you are goin up hills? anyone have the Red colant light come on? :? scionspecialistvegas 04-01-2004, 01:32 AM I run the baker grade into socal all the time, I haven't overheated yet. Bill BoomBox757 04-01-2004, 02:11 AM i've pushed to to try to get the light to come on but it doesn't  allblackxb 04-01-2004, 02:47 AM On the way to kansas we were going about 100mph the whole time up hills and everything, no overheating at all. XeroCool 04-01-2004, 05:38 AM Ya i just ran my xB from san JO to San Diego. Even when i floored it up the grapevine mountains i was running cool. No problems here. XBman 04-01-2004, 06:12 PM Yeah but anyone tru it with the a/c on? then it would prob overheat. This has been a great concern for me, seeing how big the radiator is. Then again my old car ( ford festia 1989) did overheat alot with the a/c on Radiodude 04-01-2004, 07:05 PM Ford Festiva = KIA Houston traffic here, with AC on and no overheating! MUCH MUCH better upgrade than the KIA, congrats on your chioce... and I wouldn't expect most of the same probs your festiva had when thinking about the scion... despite the fact that both are sub-compacts. Technology has evolved, thankfully. -will Djuan 04-01-2004, 07:38 PM just got back from Vegas last week, going 80-85 mph with ac on up and down hills, during day... no problems... XBman 04-01-2004, 09:54 PM cool! boxman94561 04-09-2004, 09:34 PM ive ran up an 11% grade in second gear revving at about 6100 rpms for 5 miles with the a/c full blast and nothing happend XBman 04-12-2004, 04:54 AM ive ran up an 11% grade in second gear revving at about 6100 rpms for 5 miles with the a/c full blast and nothing happend thats pushin it  JanusFive 04-28-2004, 01:53 PM I'm going to be putting Amsoil into my box soon with a large bypass filter... so no worrys for overheating for me, anyway! studentper 04-28-2004, 02:08 PM Just a thought. Does the warning light trigger with low coolant as well as an overheat? It may be that the uphill grade causes the coolant level at the sensor to lower enough to trigger the light. (My current car does this.) XBman 04-28-2004, 05:29 PM yeah it probally could, how many miles are on your car . If i were u i would check my cooland level. The Best way to do so is to park your car on the Flattest ground possible so that it gives u an accurate reading. Hope this helps Dave |
