Default Sounds when engine is off

I'm just wondering, does anyone hear a loud noise (sounds like a fan) coming from under the hood when the engine is off (no a/c no fan) but the key is on "on"

Alot of scion drivers freak out at the normal noises the tC makes... It's kinda like farting and asking oneself "omg, was that normal?"

I only hear it when I shift bad during the drive, some times it comes on some times it doesn't. Is it a bad thing if the damn fan turns on after driving say 3 miles?

the fan kicks in when it needs to cool down the engine, the reason you notice it, is at idle or just in the on position its because there isnt much background noise (though our fan is one loud motha...)

no commas=I have no idea what you're saying. are you saying you doubt that when you grind gears(not the clutch), the fans turn on, or that you think that? if you doubt it, that's good, because it doesn't affect the engine, it affects the tranny..unless you're bring the car to near redline and then mis-shifting..but even then, your fans aren't gonna turn on just because of that. you just hear it because your RPM drop down enough for other noise to be more audible.

if you really want to pinpoint a noise, wait till it happens, and if possible, walk around the car or check under the hood, if you know it's coming from there, and listen or feel for vibrations.

Its your emission componets. If you read your owners manual it states in there you may hear noise up to a few hours after the car is turned off. I think it said that is something having to do with your fuel system to make sure everything is venting properly ie purge control valve. Read your manual its in there.

Yea, after a few hours, a pump runs automatically for fuel purposes I believe.
