Default I'm missing a part on my xb!

I just purchased a '06 xb a week ago. That night I was looking it over and noticed a little light shining through the grill on the passenger side. I looked closer and it seems as though there is a plastic 3"-5" piece missing wich block the light from the headlight. I went to the dealer and he ordered a new grill and the same exact piece is missing. Is that normal? Is anyone else missing that piece?

Are you talking about the fog lamp insert or the lower grille end? Maybe a pic will help if you have one.

I just went outside and checked mine. I never noticed before but I do have some light showing from behind the grill, on the passenger side, beside where the foglight would be (if I had foglights).

it is shining because of the lower part of the headlight shield(looking inside the mid grille).
if that is painted black or putting/covering it with a black tape, it will solve it, that is if it really annoys you.

It doesn't really bother me if it is normal. Just want to make sure I'm getting all of my XB!

This was discussed a long time ago. IIRC, they changed the design at some point. Older xB's were different slightly, I think but there wasn't a model year change, it just happened.

RoachCoach,

which dealer did you purchase it from and how long did you have to wait?

Upon further investigation of my 06, with the headlights on in the dark, it seems that the stock air intake blocks the light on the drivers side.

OK, I just went out and removed my bumper to investigate this... j/k but I took a few pics when I was grilling.

Anyhow, on the intake side there is this piece of foam that kinda acts like a filter between the radiator and the frame right in front of the stock intake opening. I can't tell 100% from my other pics but it doesn't look like the passenger side has that, also the opening is wider I think. Or is it that black piece of plastic or am I off completely?

It'd help to see a pic of the light bleeding thru. Got a camera and tripod?

Ill take a picture tonight. but, i dont have a tripod. its actually part of the grille. if you look on the back of the grille, or feel it rather. you will feel little pegs off of the grille. what comes off of it is a flat little piece of plastic with grooves in it. it just pops right out. Also that plastic arm next to the radiator (the huge fin like one pointing forward, i took that off too, it was flappin around.

I plan on filling those spaces with lights. Maybe some KC Daylighters for the extra umph on the dark twisty country roads where i live. but ill prolly just get some small fog lights.
