XB_BOY_2005 11-03-2005, 05:04 PM Hi everybody, im moving to (southern)laramie, wyoming in 2 months, i was just curious if anyone around there had scions, denver is only 2 hours away. Also, nice to meet everyone! schwettynuts 11-03-2005, 06:42 PM Why dont you move to CO instead? Thats an idea :P I am sure there will be a bunch of people there. XB_BOY_2005 11-03-2005, 07:42 PM well, im goin to school in laramie, im attendin Wyotech. joolie 11-03-2005, 07:47 PM this is off topic...but schwetty...why are you banned? :!: schwettynuts 11-03-2005, 08:14 PM is that a mechanic school or engineering school? We got all that in Denver :P. Joolie.. its just a joke.. im not really banned. I just set it as my avatar lol. XB_BOY_2005 11-03-2005, 08:22 PM wyotech is an automotive mechanic school, apparently its one of the best, so when i get out i'll make alot of money!...haha j/k but yeah, its a really good school. chipzxb 11-03-2005, 11:19 PM If you get a chance to stop in Denver Let us all know, we'll meet up. XB_BOY_2005 11-04-2005, 12:16 AM im definitely gonna go to denver a few times, so i will tell you guys so we can get a lil meet goin. Drifting_ae86 11-04-2005, 12:24 AM you will hate your life after moving to wy for wyotech if you have any automoive back round you are better off just getting a job, and its damn cold i mean you can go all week and the all time high will be 0 deg XB_BOY_2005 11-04-2005, 01:18 AM and its damn cold i mean you can go all week and the all time high will be 0 deg good thing my gf will be living with me, she can warm me up  haha Drifting_ae86 11-04-2005, 02:03 AM still way cold, you will know what i mean when you live there during wenter djhax 11-05-2005, 03:02 AM You might be the first scion owner in wyoming that has the net lol.....we never hear fom em bsp-tC 11-18-2005, 10:14 PM I have an Aunt, Uncle, and four cousins that live in Laramie. It isn't THAT bad you guys! ...and Wyotech IS one of the best mechanic's schools to go to. You make your life what it is! It's not where you live that counts, ESPECIALLY because of the internet! You can do whatever you want online these days, ya' know? grizzly_choppers 11-19-2005, 02:18 PM I've actually heard really good things about Wyotech from my technicians and others. Laramie can actually be a really fun town. I have a bunch of friends there and the fireworks are plentiful. Unfortunately, I think it's more like 3 hours to Denver, but I could be wrong (it's been a while since I made the trip). Make sure you stick around in the summer for Jubilee Days. It's one giant drunken street party downtown. Lots of fun and a good atmosphere. Good luck! -Alex NoriegaTC 09-12-2006, 02:18 PM actually.. ive been in wyoming with my 2006 TC since August of 2005 :) Im in Cheyenne with the U.S. Airforce. I hate this place but we got about 10 TC's around here. Denver is 1 hour away. bsp-tC 09-12-2006, 03:38 PM So you must FLY on the roads too, huh? LOL We live in Greeley (northern Colorado), and it takes us at least an hour to get to Denver every time we go (every weekend lately!). HP_Pirate 09-14-2006, 05:04 PM wyotech is an automotive mechanic school, apparently its one of the best, so when i get out i'll make alot of money!...haha j/k but yeah, its a really good school. well I graduated from tech a year ago. some advice wyoming stinks. laramie is the arm pit of america. and as far as making big money, forget it. its a good school but full of lies and I make less now then I did when I delivering pizza. but congrats on going and have fun. bsp-tC 09-14-2006, 05:34 PM I have a neighbor two doors down from us that went there too! Maybe you guys went at the same time Pirate! But he said it was really good, and he seems happy with what he is doing now...I guess it all depends on what you take from the experience, and what your plans are when you finish. Either way, we're not too far away in northern Colorado, so if you are wanting to hang out with some cool people, you should come down to Greeley or Fort Collins sometime when we're having a gathering of the clubs in the north! Otherwise, if you can make the drive down to MC's pizza on Saturday nights, we all hang there alot too... HP_Pirate 09-14-2006, 07:58 PM I don't make bad money, my point was only don't get your hopes up to high becuase those reps make some promises that aren't true. I love what I do even though my dream is to be in the custom field (wich is why I went to wyotech) but I still have fun at my job and if I did it all over again I wouldn't change a thing. my advice is to enjoy yourself and get out as much as you can, have fun, study hard cause the info can come a little a fast. If I did do it different I would have concentrated a little more on my studies and tried harder to get perfect attendance. its a huge reward if you can do it but is diffucult. I also still have all my notes and studies from all the classes I took so if you need some help or just have a few questions about automotive feel free to shoot me a e-mail or pm and I will be glad to help you out. again have fun make the most of the expierance, study hard and good luck.................... XB_BOY_2005 09-17-2006, 11:41 PM i graduate friday, and i got a job at 18$ an hour, not bad, i am going to work on the trains ;) HP_Pirate 09-18-2006, 03:52 AM you a deisel guy huh? yeah if I did it all over again thats what I would do, it pays like twice as much and has alot better options. congrats to you though, I hope you took alot out the experiance, and good luck in your new career. XB_BOY_2005 09-25-2006, 05:16 PM I took Auto core and half diesel. The diesel classes are so much easier than the auto classes too. its pretty funny, the easier classes pay more.. |
