What are your thoughts on this kit? Fitting this to the ZPI stage 0 would be pretty easy to do.

It goes inline with the charge tube - and has a pump and coolant to run the liguid thru the tube to cool down the charged air. Like an air to air FMIC, but uses coolant to cool the charged air.

Air to water is much more efficient and not contigent on the outside air nearly as much. Also, sitting in traffic...it still cools the air. Not to mention the plumbing for this is soooo much easier than FMIC to work with

PWR makes one of the best cores out there. While that does seem a bit pricey, i know that the i've seen it slightly cheaper, it is a great idea. throw it inline from turbo, weld BOV fitting on there and boom done. run 2 AN lines to the heat exhanger with the pump in line and boom, instant cooling. I wouldn't use too much coolant in the mix, just distilded water with water wetter, then maybe drop in 20% antifreeze during freezing season.

I've been trying to find a complete kit like this one for cheaper...no luck so far. I've searched around and it appears that many of the compact cars with SC and turbo's have gone this route. Many have reported reducing the charge time by using this kit as opposed to a FMIC and dropping temp by 50% or more.

here' my only source for help: call Mike @ 714.688.0222
He's at Laskey Racing. Earl Laskey used to sell PWR A/W intercoolers so i'm sure they still may have a connection. Just an FYI, they are great people. If you want to really talk tech, I can shoot you earl's number, but he can get intense on you.

Thanks...I called and Earl answered the phone. He did a good job for me. Pricing is better and gave me free shipping. Thanks

Sure sounded like it. He asked what I was putting it on and I told him a Scion TC. He said he hasn't had any to play with yet..I'm sure that will change soon enough. Really a nice guy to talk to. Thanks alot for the lead.

I saw something along those lines a SEMA tC show car for the TRD S/C. I know Vortech make air to water coolers for there superchargers. It would be nice to see this on a s/c or turbo tC.

I've read nothing but good things about them and I like the idea of it really making the TC remain stock looking. No FMIC at all. Yes, there will be another small radiator and fan setup, but it's black and looks like a stock oil cooler. I only need 3 or so feet of charge pipe instead of 8 feet.

since you have the option, throw the BOV before the core, aka on the hot side. This way you don't tax the turbo to fill up the core just to bleed it out. plus you won't blow out chilled air.

be sure to post up picks, it should be easy to mount, just throw it in front, as you would a FMIC. infront of the AC condensor to let it get cold air. then you have the fan on it to help things out.

Oh dude...that's an excellent idea. I've been thinging where in line to put it and I didn't even think to have it up front to get some cold air as well. I will be cutting and welding as soon as it shows up....pics will follow and thanks for the ideas and lead.

its the same reason you see some new people putting the BOV on the hotside of the FMIC instead of on the charge pipe. the purpose of the BOV is to vent air from the turbo so it doesn't get reverse waves. having the BOV closest to the turbo means quicker area to vent it.
