good stripper recomendation and solder gun
I have been using crappy tools to do work in my car, and I think its time to get a good soldering iron and a good stripping tool. Anyone have some recomendations on what to get and where to get them?
I know this one girl who works at.....oh wait...nevermind.
No, but seriously I don't know what others are going to recommend on here. I personally have just a regular ole soldering iron from radioshack. Someone is going to say it's crap, but works just fine for me.

I just want a good stripper that will allow me to splice into her..... well... as well as stripping her....... umm..... ok.
But seriously there are some that will grab the wire and pull the end off really cleanly. Some also will let you strip in the middle of the wire. Just gotta look around.
For what it's worth I wanted to get one of those "cold heat" soldiering irons, because it sounds like a great idea. However somebody told me that they SUCK. Can't say for myself for sure but I'd read some reviews on it if you're thinking about getting one of those.

For soldering irons and guns, you can't go bad with Weller or Hakko. There are others, but they are pricey. For strippers I use Klein tools. Klein has a combo stripper/crimper tool with a plier tip. I don't use those for cripming, just stripping. If you want a good crimper go to www.pertsexpress.com and look for ratcheting cripmers, they have a wide die so you get a good even crimp. Parts Express also has a good deal on heat shrink tubing.
