Default iceLink: Connection for iPod to Scion...?

http://densionusa.com/merchant/merch..._Code=IA_Scion

Ive been searching and searching for a way to hook my iPod to the Scion and it appears this works?

Does anyone have one?

Also does this work with the Pioneer 6CD changer that scion is including right now, or is it just for the Stock stereo?

Please help

I dont have one but here are my comments:

1) The 6CD Head Unit is the same setup as the "Stock Headunit" the only difference...you can have 6 CD's

2) IPODS are great but why pay almost $260 to hook up to the stock headunit when you can get an Aftermarket HU for allot less than that that has an Input for your IPOD.

Just my 2 cents.... :D :D

ok heres the story i bought one of those from soundgate about 2 months ago and they said it would work for toyota/scion so i installed and it did not work so i called soundgate and they thought the scion radio/hu was the same as toyota but it is not the same scion uses a pioneer hu while toyota is different so soundgate bought my stock hu for 200 bucks and said the kit would be recalled and sold at alater date so i doubt any work right now if i were you just buy a hu with a aux port thats what i did

Hello!

I have been searching for an in-car wired solution for connection my 3G iPod to my newly bought Scion Xa. In my searching I have come across your product the iceLink. It appears by your site that it does indeed work with Scion's. Does this include the 6cd changer Head unit as well? I've read on another site that your iceLink does not actually support Scion, but rather just Toyota.

Please let me know, so I can decide on a purchase or not

Thanks!

Jason

response:

Hi,

Scion is manufactured by Toyota - so the radio interface is the same like new Toyotas.
My understanding is that all Scions have the 6disk in-dash, please correct me if this is wrong assumption.

The kit you need is

I would recommend the Griffin Technology iTrip. Check it out... wireless.

I've got one and it works great.

no offense but the iTrip and any other FM transmitter simply sucks

received this response from tech support

Hi,

manufacturers are almost irrelevant, because Toyota has their own specifications.
Alpine or Pioneer would make radios to match those specs, but the new ones are mostly
Pioneer.

Best Regards

Support.

jason,

read this reply of mine on another thread:

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...=217525#217525

and while the ipod does have both USB2 and firewire interfaces for hooking up to your PC, it also has a headphone jack that can be used like a line-out to feed into the pioneer aux in. i hardwired my ipod's dock in the console and all i have to do is plonk the ipod in the dock and i'm golden.
