View Full Version : My 2006 xB
C_Cubed 11-17-2005, 07:47 AM Finally got the new ride on Oct 31st... yeppers, she's a Halloween baby.
Just wanted to post some pics and some info about the 2006 xB model.
First off, they had to cancel my Leather Steering Wheel - seems that the new electrical harness (for the iPod Stereo) also has a new upgraded AirBag that doesn't work with the current Leather Steering Wheel that is available. Also, the xB is the only one of the three car lines (xA, xB, tC) that does NOT have the radio and iPod control buttons available on it's steering wheel.
Other than that, so far it seems identical to my wife's 2005 xB.
Onto the pics:

schwettynuts 11-17-2005, 01:39 PM I like it.. but I really hate the bra :nails: . Are you gonna buy new rims?
C_Cubed 11-17-2005, 02:58 PM schwetty -
To each his own... I'm looking at the fact that I have a brand new car in Colorado that I just picked up in time for snow season (i.e. Sanding Trucks, rocks, etc.) and I'm not looking to have my front end all chipped up before the summer. Plus, growing up as a muscle car builder and enthusiast in the late 70's - early 80's (before the 'investors' priced them out of range) I am somewhat partial to old school styles (i.e. Bras, Moons Dual Exhausts, Hood Scoops).
As far as Rims - maybe eventually - by why waste rubber that doesn't even has 1,000 miles on it to drop $1,000+ for rims and tires?
Like I said, I'm partial to the full racing moons and it definately sets my car apart from the pack. I'll probably run bigger rubber on the factory rims once before I seriously even consider buying new rims.

chipzxb 11-17-2005, 03:06 PM Looking good, personaly I like the moon shoes!
IckyScion 11-17-2005, 03:26 PM Unless you get a clear bra they do more damage than good. They hold moisture and dirt on your paint an they always move around a little making tiny scratches in the paint. After a while water gets into the small sctatches and when it freezes makes hairline cracks in the paint. That is why I sugest getting a clear bra.
C_Cubed 11-17-2005, 04:29 PM Icky -
Actually, that use to be true...
Bras are now made of a 'breathable vinyl' with a wicking finsh behind that doesn't allow moisture to get trapped behind it.
I've washed it with the bra on and checked later and it was dry as could be underneath.
I appreciate the information though - trust me, I did my homework before I purchased it.

Thanks! I like the moon shoes too!

Schwetty - be careful... the prices are low, but you have to watch the shipping... it also depends on what types/style of rim you'll settle for... as they say, 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'.

If you work 12-14 hours a day and have a wife who also works, you too can have 2 Scions!!!
As far as the garage, it's our dock at work - it has a street level dock door so I go there on weekends when no one is around so I can work on it... It's a little chilly this tme of year to work on ti in the carport at out apartment!!!
This one is my gift to myself for all of the overtime I put in at work... thanks for the kind comment.
