I want to know what is the proper way to warm your car. I used to just sit in the garage for a couple mins. But i could have sworn i read in the owners book that you should not warm your car in idle. Anyone else see that or am i just trippin.

You're right. The owners manual does say that you should just drive to warm up the car. I do just that, shifting at 3000rpms until the cold engine light goes off.

I sit for a minute and baby it until the cold engine light goes off. If it's under 40 degrees, I may sit for 2 minutes. On warm days, I just take off.

what are some of the things that can happen to our engines if we were to consistently drive off without warming our cars?
