Cool,
I love that 240, I mean it has everything I could ask for and the owner is asking for every bit of it but it is a clean car, I give him that much, but as any other modified car its eye catcher for cops, and with the swap engine, that means DUNZO if I got pulled over, and yes the smog is going to cost me $350 every couple of years which is not that bad and that is the last thing in my mind, Also the car is modified so I don't know how daily its going to be. But he is the second guy I have been talking to and they both scared of the cops. He is asking 17k, I know, that sounds a little bit high for 97 car but after you see the mod list, you know what he is talking about, I couldn't low ball him less than $16.5k myself !!
ROLEX Didn't we talk about that hood, at Jermey's house :P :P :P
The 350 is very clean and adult driven, I like the car it got the look and its RWD, and the engine already makes good power and with optional turbo, they are making over 400 RWHP with just 6 PSI of boost on 91 gas which is darn good in my book I can have the car for the trade in value of $18k if not less.
So what's going to be
hotb0x4

might be an eye catcher for cops but if you don't give them a reason I wouldn't think you would have too much of an issue.

I've been in a 240 and a 350, the 350 is a pretty sweet ride in coparison. the 350 will probably cause you less maintenance issues since it's newer and probably wasn't driven as hard as the 240. It's a toss up, either way, Nissan has built a nice car.

Well the kid called me today, and he has to sell the car and he would take my offer, or I told him $17k if he smog the car, but in the mean time, I found this car around my house, very clean, dark exterior and nice interior +1 and only 145k, and I can have it for $4500 or even less, The cool thing is the car is adult driven car so I know it has not been abused. what do you guys think, I'm thinking about getting this car, its a good daily driver and I can buid it to my spec and liking instead buying someone elses car at full price !!

If it will save you $13k so you can build it yourself and put that cash into getting exactly what you want I think its worth going that way. Car looks like its in great shape too. Its always good to start with a car thats completely stock so you KNOW all the mods were done right and there were no shortcuts.

I mean you can just say buying a 240 for $17k is getting ripped off without even knowing the condition of the car and what's in it so that is different argumetn !!
About G35 and 350Z, darren was right, they do have problems with 350Z rear end and he never said anything about G35 and you should know better they are two completely different cars !! (There is reason for that $15k extra)

all i meant by the vakue if the 240 was you cant expect to regain the value of aftermarket mods in the private party selling of a vehicle, what did KBB say the car was worth? If it is worth 14k then i stand corrected and i apologize
and also, the g35 and 350 are pretty much the same car and for a brand new one the price difference is not all that much
either way congrats and enjoy and dont forget to get sideways

I do understand what you are saying, and I do agree with it, I mean it was 15k car to start with, but this new import thing has taken this car to the next level and it's like trucks now so doesn't really go by KBB, I mean all you have to do just open a Auto trader or any online listing and you will see what I'm talking about, sure you can get a s13 for much cheaper but s14 demands are really high since they are known to have the best handling in their price range. Some of the guys here know I have been looking for this car for quite some time now so I was surprise at first, and when I was making offers the sellers were laughing at me and after some research I found out it what's going on so I changed the way I was making offers on cars. they are becoming like Supras, right now if someone got a 1993.5 up MKIV they can ask anywhere between $30~$50 sure they have mods and as you said mods don't have value to the buyer but the demand is so high, they can ask for anything which is at some point stupid but hey, they don't make them no more, So I think at some point demand over ride the actual value. So the case for the white car, it's 97, so the car worth close to 8k stock in this market, and list of mod and that car is just un-beatable, I mean a rich kid from LA, decided to make a drift car, so just go from there, start with 340 RWHP s14 sr engine in front all the way to Tommie 2-way LSD in the back, if you just add the mods on that car with no labor the value would over 20k so his asking price was not that bad for a person who just want to have ready to go car.
But hey I paid less than KBB value for my car so I'm cool with it, how is your car coming, did you get your problem fix (I think re-mapping)

MyBoX
12-02-2005, 07:34 AM
Hey, how about this you sell 50 camber plates and JDMP gives you one set for free :P
About the coilovers I got the zero-2, they are the sporty version the vacanza are more of low stree version, about the front ends parts, I have to see how the car handles after lowering but I would think stiffer sway bars, tension bar, adjustable toe arms, I mean the list can go on but I like to mod the car as I go so I can feel the changes. but the coilovers and rear arms are must if I want to fit the wheels I got for it !!!

Option 1 -->

Some update, I installed the front coil overs, I have about 2" to go down and the car is already rubbing when I turn, for some reason these front coilovers are 3.5" shorter than stockies to start with but we'll see what happens when I get new wheels, but the sad part is my wheels are not going to work, I bought these as my track wheels for rears but I thought run all 4 of them but they are not clearing the coilovers in front     Oh well, gotta find another set !! More to come !!
Well, Sold the goldies less than 24hrs, they are Gone and new set should be here soon !! Sean

Sean, most of the Greddy kits are CARB legal, but doesn't mean you'll pass smog. Just FYI.
hotbox05
01-09-2006, 09:27 AM
if the kit is carb approved it will pass smog. that is of course with a properly running engine.
besides he doesnt care about smog. worst case he can illegally pass it. what he wanted was safety from hood pops which a carb e.o. placard provides. lucky sob!

Yep, Darren is right, Smog wasn't a big deal for me I just the didn't want to keep getting a ticket fot it but something funny the kit is carbed but their intercooler setup is not   But still the only thing now I have to check is open the hood and see if my car is OBDI or II , Greddy only makes the kit for 96~98 but according to them The second part of 95 came with OBDII so I might get lucky there !!

They are here  !!! well after long wait they finally showed up, everybody like to get Works and Rays for this type of car and I wanted set of SSRs for a long time but its getting really hard to order SSRs with the new company, but I was like why not step it up a notch so here they are :P !!!
Thanks Darren, I like them Both, Each one has its own style, Shoot I migh just put the AME shallens on,
"Rolex, you know these are some expensive forged wheels, damn that guy was such ...
Here picture of the car with Rays, I just put them on for fun of it and see howmuch work needs to be done, very minimal fender rolling in the rear and some in front and removing the inner fenders and relocating the wirring then drop the car more right now I'm tucking tire in rear and very little in front !!
Now thats bad'azz! :D     :eyebrow:
