Default TRD 18" rims for xB won't be here until March '06, HELP

I purchased an 06 xB from Power Toyota in Cerritos two weeks ago (bad experience, still don't have any options installed) and today I found out that the TRD 18'rims and low profile tires I ordered as an option won't be in the states until March of '06. Does anyone in the Orange County area have a suggestion for a good dealer who understands the wheel/tire combination setup for the xB? My 20 dollar Pep Boys hub caps are too stupid to leave on until March. The dealer wouldn't even give me the stock hub caps since I ordered the rims. I'll post in another area for the experience I had with 'ol Power... Any suggestions would be appreciated.

That's awesome! Did you get the TRD rims or an aftermarket set?

You can get better wheels cheaper through the aftermarket. Get the dealer to give you the money back for the rims and buy what you like. Look in the gallery of this website - you will probably see something you like better that you can get immediately. (Make the dealer give you your hubcaps back also - he owes them to you).

surfcitylocal, I ordered the 18" TRD wheels and tires and got them on my car when I picked it up. However, a week later when I damaged a rim (not hard to do), I had a very hard time getting a new one. Called and complained to Scion that they sell these wheels but getting even one is difficult! I finally got one for an inflated price compared to the purchase price. That's how it goes. I do love them and they look great. They have them on their website, you should be able to get them. And you are entitled to any hubcap design you want, they are included in the purchase price! So make sure you get your hubcaps. Good luck, Gerry

Thanks for the info, I'll get my cash and my hubcaps and go buy some rims elsewhere. I have heard such great things about the Scion dealers, I hope it's just this one that sucks!

I am lowering the Box 2 inches, can I still use an 18 inch rim? I've been reading other posts about tire and rim size until my eyes are blurry...so much to learn...

18" rims are fine with lowered XBs because the overall diameter is about the same. What is more important is the correct wheel width and offset. The correct tire size is important also.

Thanks for the info. I'm looking at the Motegi RT5 18x7.5 with a tire choice of 215/35/18 or 225/40/18...any comments or suggestions on this set up? Any suggestions on the offset needed?

Ummmm. First off when buying wheels and tires from the dealer you are entitled to get your steelies and caps. Even if you get the 15 inch Scion alloys you are suppossed to get them back. The only way you wouldn't get them is if they gave you some-sort of credit towards the new wheels and tires. If they won't give em back I say go to a dealer that won't try ripping you off. They are yours not theirs.

when i got my xa, i put every stock option on it and the dealership gave me back all of the stock parts in boxes. i still have the brand new steels and tires stacked in my garage along with the stock springs/shocks, exaust, taillights, and orignal shifter. they told me to save them for later down the road or sell them on ebay for all they cared.

I like the looks of your choice, but those Motegis have a +45mm offset - They will probably rub your rear suspension. 7.5" is a little too wide, you would be better off with 7.0".

You should look for rims that are 18X7 with a +37 to +40 mm offset. The perfect tires for this size rim would be 215/35-18. You will have no issues with this setup.
