Default I just got an Ipod Nano. Will it work with my '05 tC?

Hi everyone,

I just got an Ipod Nano for my birthday and was wondering if it will it work with my '05 tC.

I don't want to spend a couple hundred dollars for a new head unit and was wondering if i can get away with just buying a wire that will go from my nano to the back of my head unit somewhere like a cd changer input (i don't have a cd changer).

I was also wondering about what types of ipod nano holders are out there for the tc. After i did some searching i found that there are some rubber ipod holders that fit inside the cup holder. Is there one for the ipod nano as well?

Thanks in advance for all and any help.

Greg.

What do you guys think if i buy this:

Peripheral Toyota/Honda 2-Pack Harness Kit For iPod (PXHTHKIT) ($30)
http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/prodde...est%5Fcookie=1

then just buy a PXHHD1 adapter (under $20).

that will be under $50 as appposed to the $60 toy03 kit from ebay

Hmm... I use the PIE adapter, and it works fine... except the gain seems to be a little low... anyone notice that?

The PXHTHKIT looks interesting... but only looks like it's for sale in Canada. Anyone seen this in the US?

Can i use my headunit to control the ipod (change tracks and volume) with this?

http://cgi.ebay.com/PAC-AUXPOD-IPod2...QQcmdZViewItem

The AUX-POD gets direct sound from your iPod™ into your factory stereo. No more sound degrading FM modulator. Get clean, high quality sound playing through your factory radio. Change tracks on your iPod™ from the factory radio or steering wheel (vehicles with audio controls on steering wheel). The AUX-POD automatically turns off the iPod™ when the radio is out of AUX-mode or when vehicle/radio is turned off. The iPod™ also charges the iPod™ when connected to the AUX-POD. The AUX-POD works on the iPod™ mini, 3rd and 4th generation iPods.

I think if you want to spend the $137 to buy that you should jsut go for a new head unit. I think if you just get that you may find yourself wanting more and ultimately get a new headunit anyways. That's what happened to me, I just found a decent head unit with an aux input in the front and I was good to go.

The upgrade bug is brutal..I have an Elemental Designs system (components, amp, and subs) coming for christmas now, and all I wanted to do was to play my iPod without the FM transmitter :-)
