View Full Version : Show me a picture of your xb with a short ram intake
SuperToaster 12-08-2005, 01:40 AM I wanna see what it looks like- all I can find is "stock" photos but none up close or any good. So if anyone has a pic of their box with a short aftermarket air intake that would be great!
Thanks in advance!!

Blitz Sus Power kit....
where can you find that kit and how much?
elusivedragon 12-08-2005, 05:03 PM that is a nice kit considering mine even being a short ram the intake is hiding behind the headlight lol a pain to clean the filter...of course not like that is done often but still
nice intake
SmokingTires 12-08-2005, 08:59 PM The benefit of a SRI is that it doubles as a cold air intake while this one just pulls air from the engine compartment.
dmxsoulja3 12-09-2005, 09:35 PM yeah that blitz kit looks nice, the benefits of SRI and CAI on 108 hp don't mean ISH. I'm interested to know what the Blitz kit costs as I havent seen it for sale or anyone have it posted other than you..thx
SmokingTires 12-09-2005, 09:37 PM The thing is that you will loose horse power when you pull some hot air, making it less than 108hp
p2filz 12-09-2005, 09:54 PM how easy is it to interchange between the short ram/cai system?
CKGuY914 12-09-2005, 10:00 PM http://www.scionetics.com/scions/ckguy914car1_pic3.jpg
dmxsoulja3 12-09-2005, 10:01 PM I seriously doubt your going to lose HP with the amount of air coming in VS. the size of the engine I hardly doubt it, its not so much the temp as the pure amount of air coming in over stock on an application like the xB, or atleast I feel that way, on a much larger engine maybe, but xB I seriously doubt.
987KEITH 12-10-2005, 05:15 AM not too bad, take off the filter and the front bumper and attach the extension tube and filter and bolt it all back up, maybe a 30min thing.
squirrel 12-10-2005, 06:59 AM I'll post pics of the F5 Fujita SRI this weekend.

C2AUTOSPL 12-12-2005, 06:36 AM Here's a pic of the FUJITA short ram on an xB.

If you want one you can order them **HERE*** (http://www.c2auto.com/scixbfujita.html)
RTon20s 12-12-2005, 10:40 PM Not to take away from C2 Auto, but I just ordered the Fujita from my wife from Ptuning.com. They were great to deal with.
It was shipped to my door for quite a bit less than the link listed above and made it here in six days (FedEx Ground). The box just arrived today, and it is in great shape. I can't even tell you how tempted I was to open it. But, since it is a Christmas gift, it won't be opened for another two weeks.

:blah:
You can see a Short Ram better than a CAI? I don't think so. Most of them are tucked away and leave a big blank spot where the airbox was. My CAI is definitely a mod you can see. and when it gets wet out, you bust it in half and it looks just like the first one pictured with no chance of hydrolock. As far as performance, the time when a CAI outperforms a Short Ram is from a standstill. That's when the SRI will be pulling hotter air. Once you are moving and air is rushing in, there will be little difference, other than the tuned length of a CAI.
And as for the previous debate on HP gains, since you most likely won't be at 4200RPM at takeoff, the whole argument of are you getting 108 hp is kinda moot. Don't forget, HP without the @ is about as useful as an email address without it...

Drowning? Seriously, what person in here would willfully drive their car into water deep enough to go halfway up their wheels regardless if they had a CAI or not? You're better off owning a canoe than a Scion if you're tredging through water that deep.
Scibox 12-31-2005, 09:38 PM Super Autobachs in Stanton, CA for the Blitz Sus kit.

Thats why those are called cold air intakes.
The air up towards the top of the engine bay is much warmer than the air inside the bumper near the headlight, away from the hot engine.

Nope, even most of the "short ram" intakes for the xB locate the filter behind the headlight. Most of the CAI just add a 90* bend and move the filter down a little lower.
Biznox 01-02-2006, 08:38 PM I'm just talking about the one pictured which takes air from up top. I'm aware that the Injen short ram and some others take air from behind the headlight.
