Thanks.
What about the 2005 xA?
K&N and many sellers say that the Typhoon does not fit the 2005, but some sellers like Crutchfield say otherwise.
Has K&N actually tried the 2005 xA or are they just not taking any chances?
Thanks

A lot of sellers and K&N itself will only show the Typhoon for 2004 and 2003:

Crutchfield sells it for "2004-up":

I asked K&N about it and they said that they do not sell anything for my car (a 2005 xA).
WTF, mate?
gnar-de-gwar, thanks for the info. Is the 69-8606T* the SR, CA, or CCA that K&N mentions in their description? Can you convert it between CAI and SRI? I asked a fleabay seller about the same blasted part and he said it was a SRI only....
Thanks

has nothing to do with fitment... has to do with CARB EO...
we know it fits b/c its the same car just different years
but gov doesnt work that way... KN needs to reapply for every year they want a CARB EO. Why this affects all 50 states i'm not quite sure though

it's just a plain and simple cold air intake, can't change it to short ram. although when I think about it unlike every other CAI availible for the xA whose bends go something like <^>^^<<^>>< is like an elongated S shape that resembles a SRI for our cars. but it's cold air for sure thoughe because the intake is housed in the bumper below the engine
thanks. ordered a Typhoon from a fleabay seller for $180 shipped.
The CCA would have been nice to test both SR and CA, but I doubt it makes enough of a difference. I just want to even out the power curve anyway.

i got the same Typhoon kit installed on my IST/xa here in Singapore last year for couple mths till i found out...
that the vibration and rattling of the CAI near the aircon pipings actually were rubbing against each other till it burst a hole in my aircon pipe!
so finally got the workshop to fabricate a new aircon pipe and bent the pipes wider to prevent further friction.
