the catch can collects abunch of gunk besides just oil, but alot of sludge that can be built up and eventually get into your engine. does it work Yes. does the stuff it catch be potentially hazardous to your engine? Yes. Would your car run great without it? Yes. most of the appeal of it is it is only like 15 bux for an off brand, and adds color to your engine bay. what i like to get also are those magnetic oil plugs. it is a strong magnet that sits in your oil pan, and collects all the micro metallic sahvings that are built up, or worn off of your engine. you wipe it down after every oil fill. i was surprised how much this works, wether it is from the engine, or oil, it collects a bunch of little metallic "shavings".

you can get them off of ebay for like 10 bux. or you can go to any one of those "gizmo stores that they have in the malls. (you know those movable carts in the center aisle) and they have them, OR you can go to a flea market. i have seen them there also. best easiest, Ebay!

nah it is my bad for posting in here. it is just called a magnetic oil plug. they are usually universal sizes, and i believe toyotas are all the same.

The short of it is this:

Toyotas are known for sucking oil through the intake. So to prevent the oil from coating the intake, an oil catch can is placed in between the valve and the intake.

I did this mod when I had both of my Celicas, one w/ the 18RG, and the other w/ the pumped 20RC, and on the turbo taco.
