Default My S50 Sirius Install 56K will be alright

Well I received Sirius as a Christmas gift and here is some pictures of the install. I drilled a 1/2" hole in the cup holder to allow the wires to feed through. Then I drilles a 1/2" hole in the base of the center console arm rest. Also I opted to put the antenna inside of the car and I receive full signal with it where it is. I fed all the wires through to the cup holder and into the S50 unit. The only wire you see thats not in the cup holder is the transmitter wire. I am getting the Aux input adapter for my headunit but all the stores around me are sold out, and I"ll be ordering from Crutchfield tonight. Let me know what you think...Joco

Not that big considering that it is portable and holds 50 hours of programming. the dial and buttons at the bottom are part of the dock. It's only 4x2 inches and .7 thick.

Did you just get the kit to attach to your Headunit? What you see in the pictures is 100 percent fully functional Sirius. All the wires are ran underneath everything, The only wires you can see is going from the bottom of the unit into the cupholder. Also the FM transmitter wire..but the will be gone when I get my part from Crutchfield

I did something similar with drilling a hole in the bottom of the armrest. This way the power to my Sirius is hidden (just like yours above). But I also snaked a 2nd input into the same hole that plugs into my ipod. The input cable is long enough that I can use my ipod, with the armrest closed. Then when I need to put it away, I can stuff the pod and the input cable back into the armrest and you would never know it was there. Except for me just telling you now.

I'll post some pics of my set-up later. (I'll take them on my lunchbreak). I came up with an interesting set-up for my Sirius antenna that goes above the driver's side door. It's a bit out of the ordinary, but it doesn't look bad.

But if you're saying you still get great reception with the antenna inside your car, I might try to move mine then.

Ok, here are my pics. I forgot to bring my ipod out with me, so I used my cellphone to 'simulate'.

My Sirius antenna setup:

And the interior stuff:

Looks clean, I'd just be a little weary of snapping that cord from opening and closing the door. I like the paint job. I plan on running RCA's to the cupholder as well to get the best sound out of the unit. My buddy had the same atenna as you and he mounted it on his dash (Jeep Wrangler) he said he rarely had problems.

Alright, so I finally hard wired the unit...a huge difference. I thought the transmitter was good, but it sounds so much better wired.
