Default tc radio station drifts

My 2006 tc stock radio drifts a couple of points from time to time while on FM. Like if I have it on 104.5 it will drift to 104.7 and stay there. I see others using the s2000 antenna. Will this cure the problem or is it problem with the radio?

Maybe you got the Wheel of Fortune edition... I'd take it to the dealer. Quite a few people have had the same problem...especially when it is cold.

Thanks to all especially tc_Brett for the thread. I called Scion and they don't know a thing about the problem. I did get a case # though. I'll try to get it to the dealer soon, but I can't duplicate the problem with any frequency. So it's hit or miss and a couple of hours at the dealer. Hopefuly they'll order & install a new radio and that will cure it, but i doubt it. Sounds like a problem with Pioneer's parts.

Mine works fine. No trouble. Sounds better now that I switched to xA equalizer.

My radio also does this alot. I would say it does it 3 to 4 times a week. Should I also take mine to the dealer.

filmnews and peteyd, I'd take your tc's back to the dealer. I called my dealer today and the new radio is in. I am getting it put in tomorrow morning. I'll use it for the week and post what happened.

My dealer installed the new radio yesterday morning. All is fine for now, but time will tell. I'll let everyone know the outcome in a week 10 days.

Please call your dealer AND Scion's 800 number to get this in their systems. They will not fix it if only a few people call. We have to call them.

Also, from the other thread, it appears that only when it is colder (<45F), will it happen. So, for you Southerners and SoCals, it's not going to happen.....and that means fewer callers too.

PLEASE CALL YOUR DEALER AND SCION!!!!

It's been 12 days and no problems with my radio now. I am not going to use the easter egg for putting new text on the welcome screen with this one. I don't know if that caused the problem or not but I'm not taking chances.

i dunno how a s2k antenna would cure it. if anything, ive heard worse reception on a car with a s2k antenna. we were at a drive in where they transmit in FM radio and the quality of the stock antenna was clearer than that of the s2k.

No -- I have an '06 iv had an s2k ant on mine for some time. If anything the recep. is a little less. My radio stations drift sumtimes too -- but only after I removed the battery to install my CAI. Wierd huh? Its just not that bigga deal to me tho.
