I'm dropping 4" Pioneer TS-G1040R speakers into the dash. I've read somewhere that i'll need base blockers to keep the speakers stable at high volume by blocking low frequencies. I found a long list of bass blockers at Crutchfield.com, but i don't know which value or cut off i need. Here's the list:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-42lEs5b...sp?g=761&avf=N
I found this tid-bit of info on general guidelines on running bass blockers:
Speaker Size Cut-off Frequency
6-1/2", 5"x7"/6"x8" — 150 Hz
5", 5-1/4" — 300 Hz
3-1/2", 4", 4"x6" — 600 Hz (low power)
3-1/2", 4", 4"x6" — 800 Hz (high power)
I'm running a Pioneer AVH-P6600DVD HU, 22W RMS x 4. Low power i assume, so would the 600Hz blocker work best?

/\/\ at loud volume the low frequencies that reach the small speakers make them sound like crap, or so i've heard/read. These things act as a HPF and block frequencies below their given value.
