What does it mean when your amp cuts out and the power light is flashing wildly? I turned off the ignition then turned it back on and it works ok. What happened?

 

i used to have a sony explode amp in my eclipse, it was really really nice i like it 1000watts it lasted a long time too it evenually just fried out

 

Sounds like either a bad ground or a bad power wire connection.... check all your connections and make sure they're tight... make sure all wires have some type of connecter terminal at the end.. the worst possible connector is bare wire....

I had one of the xplod 1000watt mono amps pushin a 12" Fosgate Punch HX2 @ 1ohm in a box built by me hitting a 150.4 in a 1st gen eclipse... That amp literally beat the crap out of the sub.....but it all worked well...

 

My friend had one and it always overheated and shut itself off. Do you have the amp buried? And how hot is it when it shuts off.

 

It wasnt hot and not too loud. I'll check my connections maybe thats it. Weird that it worked after i turned off the ignition though...

 

i have a 1000w 2 channel xplode amp in my old car and it was the worst decision i ever made. what it sounds like is your amp pver heating, cause mine did the same thing, but only in the summer, never the winter
