Default What do you think of Kenwood HU's?

I am currently looking at the kenwood kdc-x689 head unit http://www.kenwoodusa.com/products/L...k3=128&pr=2163

just wanted to get some feedback on it or at least the brand

i basically narrowed myself down to kenwood or pioneer, i liked alpine but all their mid to high range hu's have that touch control which i dont like...

thanks in advance

EDIT: btw - i am basically in between this kenwood hu and the pioneer deh-p6800mp head unit http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...078777,00.html

I'm getting a kenwood (http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=15395) as soon as I get the money for it. I think they are great HU makers.

No complaints here! I love my KENWOOD EXCELON KDC-X889. I got it for $300 shipped off Ebay. Its got tons of features to play with and sounds amazing. I have it set up with XM Radio as well. Heres a look at it installed:

my wife had an Eclipse hu installed in her TC; gave us some control of the sub she had put in, as well as clean power to the stock speakers. Features/***** are easy for her to use while driving; much better then the Alpine deck she had put in her last car ( civic ). Installer was also able to keep functional the TC stereo cover, which was nice ( i wasn't sure if that's possible with any deck switch or not ).

Kenwood headunits are nice, but whatever you do, don't buy a kenwood subwoofer.

Kenwood has great HU's..... I came from Alpine which had a nice time correction....but the Kenwood gave my bass a great fulfillment....

That being said, I don't like Kenwood's cheaper HU's... their SRS Wow, System Q-ex/System E's+, is what I really like about them....

I personally wont get anything but Kenwood when it comes to head units. They give you pretty much everything you want for a good price. I should have my touch screen in by the end of the month.
