View Full Version : Maybe trading the tC

So I'm thinking about trading the tC in for a BMW 325i that came in this morning. The car is super clean. It's an 02 with 28k miles. My payment and insurance would hardly go up. However, I'm having serious anxiety issues with this. Thoughts please. :nails:

I feel you. I feel like trading my car in too but it's a little nerve racking. Don't know if I'd regret it or not.

I'm interested in this:

http://www.mitsubishicars.com/07spyder/ or this http://www.saturn.com/saturn/vehicles/futurevehicles/sky_hi/index.jsp

BUT! If I were going to trade my tC in for a BMW it wouldn't be a 3 series. JMO. I'd keep the tC.

I wouldn't get the BMW but thats me. I personally would keep the tC. Its a Bad A$$ machine you got. so why get rid of it. just so you can own a bmw?? Well if you decide to get rid of your tC for the BMW you can take all of your performance Mods and put them on Whitney's tC. I'm sure she won't mind.... :lalala:

Keep the tC, it cost too much to repair a BMW.

I wouldn't buy a BMW without a service contract.

IMO.. I'd pass. Mileage is nice but I still pass.

hahah.. Mooneyez just said that if you did ditch the tC you should get personalized plates..
SMLPENS or LTLDIC.

OK. Stop the madness! I'm not trading. I drove the BMW and I was not impressed. My car is faster, and I should've known that. My cousin has a 525i. We raced about a month ago and I hung with him.

another thing about the 325 is that its the entry series, so its like people will know you got the cheapest model just so you can have a BMW. good decision sticking with the tC.

Haha! The 3 series was made so the 5 series wouldn't be bottom of the barrel. Okay, not really but that's how I look at it. If you're going to buy a BMW go big or go home.

Well, the BMW is a fine machine. RWD vs FWD. Obviously you'd have more fun with the beemer.

Insurance might actually be cheaper because it's probably classified as a safer vehicle.

The BMW is engineered for driving excellence and fun. The tC.... well just fun.

Those are my two cents!

Actually insurance went up $49 a month, and the 325i doesn't have the greatest safety rating not from 02-05.

You should have bought that car three weeks ago CB took in on trade, what was that, IS300? It had a $10K fully built Surpra engine swap with twin tubos, suspension, trans, clutch, the works. What $23K? If you had not hurried it off to auction I was interested.

Glad your staying with the tC, for now.

Kelly, that IS300 was a peice of crap. They couldnt even get $10,000 for it at the auction. It would take more than $6000 just to pass everything. It leaked oil really bad and the car couldnt support the horsepower. The guy took out 60% of the stuff you need just to make it run right. Camelback Scion got screwed hard on the deal and its still setting in the back lot. They wont sell it beacause it doesnt pass any of the inspections.

Well, it's still under warranty for 22K, or 5 years from date of inservice.

Mine (2002 525it) has 130K and it's still going strong!

HELLO...your trading in a Scion not a Civic. And your talking about a manufacture that practicaly gives cars away. Don't you remember me telling you about over allowances when you bought your car. See if the dealer would give you that same amount for the tC if you were just selling the car to them and not trading. And don't even get me started on compensating....Love ya Janice

Yeah I hear you J. The BMW is a good looking car. Honestly my tC handles better and is quicker. I've just had the itch lately. It tends to happeen when you're around cars all day every day. The car I really want right now is just a little too much chair for me right now. Maybe in a year.

Mitsubishi is not a bad product. However, it is inferior to anything in the Toyota family as far as quality goes, and can't even hold a flame to resale value. I think you can understand my biased opinion.

I agree with a lot of the other posts. Unless you get an M3, don't bother with the 3 series. Entry level.
