Default New bB/xB pics from Tokyo Auto Salon

Guys,

not sure if this is old news (i am sure it is) but i thought this might spark some interest. i have not been on the boards in a while but my bB is doing fine. anyhow i just got back from the tokyo auto salon in japan. there they are doing a huge campaign on the new bB/xB both there and also in Odaiba where they have a toyota showcase. anyhow a little background, the new bB is all about music, thats the generally theme. i am not exactly sure but i would say the new bB has over 12 speakers including seperates and a sub. all speakrs are illuminated in a blue cathode light that looks pretty tight (i have pics of this but am too busy rightnow). basically though toyota is marketing this car as a hip/young generation car that caters to music, i guess similar to the u.s. anyhow sucks knowing that most likely when this comes next year (2007) they probably will get rid of this feature but the car looks nice... enjoy...

meh, I still thinks its ugly.

I wonder if they'll give it a bigger engine using the same mounts. So us 1st gen xB owners can finally have something we can just swap int.

I think it is cool, but at some angles, it looks like an anorexic squashed PT Cruiser. I think it's the curves, the flares, and the front end.

Or it's the eligitimate child of a pt cruiser and a mini that went to jenny craig.

I don't like the grill layout. Just like the new Honda Stepwgn. Doesn't flow.

Thanks for the pics. The pics with people in it really give a better feel for its scale....

...BTW, from what I've read, we are not going to get this model in the states.

I'm a bit torn, because I think the front and back have good elements, but honestly they're dropping many of the straight lines; the characteristic that makes xB's what they are. xB's are not completely box-like, they have many subtle curves, and come off as quirky but cool. This new styling throws much of that philosophy out the window.

As many have said, with the profuse use of curves and the sloping of that rear window, this thing just looks like a pt cruiser gone wrong. Hence why I have no qualms buying an 06 BOP xB.

That's what I read somewhere... The US model is supposed to be slightly bigger I believe. But, I think this new bB is so akward. I like the contrasting curves/shapes/slab sides. I wouldn't mind having one...

And the US one won't be any bigger than the Japanese one. That is just crazy to think that Toyota would shell out that much money to make two COMPLETELY different cars for the US and Japan.
