Alright everybody I have been searching for the last 4 to 4.5 hours on these forums, toyotanation, and some other forums and still have had no luck. I really hate having to post with questions while being new to forums because we always catch criticism about not using search... well I have been using the search function on many toyota and scion forums in the last 4 hours still now luck so I am gonna post.

I just recently bought a dvd player for my scion, the Clarion VRX755vd, and want to mount it in the factory HU location. I have a couple of concerns and I hope someone or anyone can help me out with them...

1) I want to mount my flipout hu to where I can still use my stereo cover to hide my new dvd player

2) I do not care if I have the gaps on the side of my hu, I do not need spacers to cover it because this dvd player will be a temp. fix seeing how the dvd player will go in my suv when i get in later this year

3) I currently have a 1-din digital eq and a 1-din mp3/cd player mounted in the stereo compartment. my eq is on top and the cd player on the bottom. I am looking to mount the dvdplayer in place of the cd player and still want to keep my digital eq. But I am willing to moving the eq down and the dvd player up if i have to or if i must i can remove the eq

4) I want to be able to conceal my toys when I am out of my car even though I will be taking the faceplates with me just that sense of extra protection about the theifs not being able to see what i have makes my life easier

Well if anyone can help me out with any of these I would greatly appreciate it. I am really looking for someone that has done the 2) 1-din units with a flipout screen and if they have pics I would be in there favor. Also I plan to put a switch in so if I get pulled over by the po po I can flip it and the monitor will shut off.

Well it appears no one on here was willing to help me out at all so the rough install is now done and DVD Player is in the dash minus the stereo lid cover thingy... Tomorrow I am gonna take a look at that thing and see what I can do with it, dremel and duct tape here I come.

 

whoa... sorry i didn't get to help you out before you installed.. posts and topics here tend to get "lost" sometimes.

yeah... i was basically going to say that with flip-outs.. you're gonna lose the stereo cover.
